    Don't need 3 players

You are right on that. Package a pick(s) with player(s) to either move up draft or trade for a clear upgrade. I am sure that one of those is going to happen. But I don't know about top 5. I either want Davis, MKG, and maybe Drummond. Anyone else I think can be gotten latter in the lottery. Beal or Lamb in top 8-10. Trade 14th pick and Martin for either would be ideal.

how can you say that? Do you think that cavs dont make that trade if say the protections was just top 1...they prob still do because of the odds.

The point is the decided that the savings was worth the risk. Had the draft order already been set and they knew for sure they had the no 1 pick...maybe they wouldnt but we do not know that. I would have assumed if they really valued the pick at that the 1 spot they would have said...look odds are we dont win the lottery...we just want top 1 protection.

Cavs say your prob right......but the clippers obviously felt the savings of money were worth the risk...

My point is...if the clips were dumb enough to do that ...then jordan certainly is

    T.Thomas worse contract

Bad...yes but it expires next year. Not like they are going to make any big moves to put themselves in the playoff race. i think they can take one more year of him being overpaid. Tyrus Thomas is a better candidated because he is severely overpaid and his contract is long. He could cripple another franchise without cap space and/or flexible contracts.

I really really like that idea...I like LMA a lot in Rockets Uniform... We have to keep dragic by trading Lowry. That's the only way out.

Jameer Nelson? I am not going to debate the trade value of Lowry. However, Lowry is way better than Jameer Nelson at this point in their careers.

So let us look at the tape so to speak.

Nelson Fg percentage is better than Lowry's but besides that Lowry is superior in every other stat. Lowry is 4 years younger. Oh and he makes less money as well.

Lowry is not Chris Paul or Derrick Rose. But he is much better than Jameer Nelson.

    Ball don't lie.

I think the 3 players that we need to aim for are Andre Drummond, Lamb and Tony Wroten Jr.

Drummond might not have played well in UConn but by potential itself and his NBA ready body size, we should try to get him hopefully to be our center of the future. He would be a long shot if he were to be taken in the Top 3. He might be attainable because of his relatively average college play.

Lamb is a good 2 way player and a good shooter as well. He would be a younger Kevin Martin(with the defense) as he does not need the ball to be effective and can catch and shoot. Have not really seen him play live but looking from the video posted up by batkins, he looked very solid.

Tony Wroten in my opinion, will be a steal if he could be had at the range of 18-23 picks. He might not be a good shooter but he certainly have the athleticism, handles and court vision of an elite point guard. Shooting can be improved overtime and you can't really teach athleticism and court vision. This league has been dominated by elite point guard and he could be one of them.

Given that Rockets number of picks are still dependable on whether we make the playoff and Dallas being a top ten team, I would say probably the most likely situation is that we have only the Knicks and Dallas pick with us making the playoff. If the draft night play out like this mock draft, I would be ecstatic as Lamb and Tony are in our range with our Knicks and Dallas pick respectively but looking at other mock draft, Lamb might go earlier and I believe Tony will increase his stock during his draft workout. If we are able to get Tony, we could either use Kyle as trade chip(if we resign Dragic) or let Dragic go. Both of them are really great player but Tony needs to be our backup and be groomed to be our next starting PG especially him being just 18. I think the most likely situation will be Dragic going as many teams will pay him a lot.

Drummond although a long shot but I think when its Portland turn to draft and Drummond is still not drafted, we might have a chance. Portland said they are willing to trade the high pick as they are in a win mode now with LMA getting/are in the prime now. Hence I think by packaging Kevin Martin and Dalembert, we might able to get it done. A starting line up of Dalembert, LMA, Batum, KMart and Felton to me looked really good. I am willing to trade Kyle(if the previous proposal doesn't work) for Drummond and another player a la Rudy Gay for Battier trade if we are able to draft Tony and resign Dragic. Again, its a long shot but I think its not impossible given Portland win mode and we having some veteran.

Hence, our future lineup will be:

    PG: Kyle OR Dragic/Tony
    SG: Lee/Lamb
    SF: Parsons/Chase OR Morris
    PF: Pattersons/Motie
C: Drummond/ Camby (would be great if we could resign him)

That leaves Scola as a trade chips as I believe he would not be in our future plans. We could trade him if there is a good value in return but if not, we can certainly still utilize Scola for a few years and slowly pass the PF duty to Pattersons and Motie.

Sorry for the long post but this has been in my head for days and I feel like sharing this with you all.

We'd have to trade Lowry to Portland in order to get Drummond if he fell that far, Ken8. I don't see him falling all the way to there though. Maybe Bradley Beal or Thomas Robinson will? Well, any one of the three would be worth KLow sent to Portland IMO. He'd be a great addition to their squad alongside LMA.

Works from a need perspective too. Portland needs a PG to replace Felton when he walks, they have what they need at SF and PF, and Crawford is a decent SG. Their biggest places they can upgrade are PG and C.

They might rather draft Drummond if he fell that far though; but Drummond is kind of a project, so maybe not. Maybe if they think a mid-first round center is a better short-term bet (Zeller perhaps?) they would do Lowry + knicks pick for Drummond.

I was thinking about the Nets pick that they obtained on trade deadline which might be a high pick and Drummond might fall to them. Sorry for not being clear about that.

True about Felton but he still have a year with them and they could get a replacement next year. However, Crawford will have a player option this summer and news are reporting that he will most likely decline the option and be a free agent. Anyhow, its a long shot and if we are able to get Lamb and Tony, I would be a happy man.

could you imagine Kidd-Gilchrist starting next to Parsons...
Lowry or Dragic would be the worst defender in your starting backcourt...

We'd have to get a top 3 pick for that.

Time for Morey to remind Stern of the Gasol incident.

The Wiz would be the team to take Drummond #2 overall. I think he's going to be the biggest disappointment of the Draft.
