I'd take Artest over Kidd. Kidd can't shoot. We have enough bricklayers at the guard position.

Right. That's how I heard it as well. Supposedly they are "concerned" that his resume for trouble keeps growing and that this would be a tough sell to Uncle Les. For the record RJ is in favor of getting Artest but says that you go into it with your eyes open. Right. Last time they did something like that it cost them their entire 2001 draft and we all know how well that worked out.

Plus we'd get to start a Clutchfans pool on when he attacks (1) Adelman (2) Yao (3) Clutch the Bear or (4) The Rockets' dancers.

Simple solution hire assistant coach Vernon Maxwell to teach Artest to focus his anger on people who deserved to get their butt kicked.

I sure hope it's legit...and it would make sense for the Rockets to do their research on any player they tried to acquire...I know Justice doesn't have a good reputation but the fact that the Houston media is now catching wind of this rumor might mean that it picked up steam...not that it' not legit...however that's me having a wishful interpretation,

or it's simply the fact that (1) the astros suck...(2) the texans are only in OTA's (and suck)...and (3) justice needs something to talk about.

justice fanning the fire on trade rumors...really?

Justice or not, I'm just glad to hear from another source that the Rockets are interested in Artest. I come to this thread religiously hoping for updates since the Ford blurb and its just pages and pages of mindless arguing, and people creating fantasy scenarios that have 0% chance of happening. So I for one am glad that another source is reporting that this rumor has some legs.

I have a great article on Ron Artest from GQ, that takes place right after the brawl. I think it is a great piece, but it is extremely long (13 pages on Microsoft word). It takes a while to read, but it is so worth it (which is why I saved it). You can definitely see that Artest isn't "all there", but you also see that the guy has a heart the size of Texas (which is what the media doesn't show you). You also get some insight into his everyday life (how he acts with his family, how cheap he is, etc.). If anyone wants, I'll post it, but it is long.

I just found the article I was talking about online. Here's the link, if anyone cares to read it.

    Free Ron Artest!

A truly great idea! I vote we start with David Chase for giving us that BS Soprano's last episode.

i was just talking to a buddy of mine who use to live in chicago while artest was there. He told me a story about artest stripping down buck naked and doing pushups at halftime while the coach was trying to go over gameplans  dont know if i believe it, but i wouldnt be surprised

Now that Mike James is apparently a Rocket, acquiring a guy like Artest could give this team a nasty mean streak. I'd love that.

LOL Applied for a job at Circuit City while he was playing for the Chicago Bulls. The guy is definitely on Mars time. Giving up a guy like Battier for him would be a crapshoot.
