Sam Amico Also, sounds like Rockets trying to nab lottery pick (and 4th first-rounder). Supposedly have had conversations with Cavs about No. 4, but Cavs supposedly aren't interested. Kings at No. 5 seem like more likely dancing partner for Rockets. about a minute ago http://sulia.com/source/S-7325151/
4 is still a play for D12 IMO . . . Morey has the Magic's wish list in front of him and he is checking boxes. Coach Mac - wants his big !!
If we somehow get a top 4 or 5 pick then im more than happy with keeping that rookie. So much better than having that annoying drama queen little kid dwight on this team. With #4 pick, we can probably get Beal or maybe Drummond. So adding josh smith or eric gordon along with that pick would be one hell of an offseason
I realize that this would be to throw at Orlando for Dwight, but DAMN I would love to add Gilchrist to this squad.
most assuredly will not, so start lowering your hopes so the fall wont be as painful.. Im in the show me business
Washington wants Robinson at 3. They're dancing all around it, hoping that Charlotte or whoever picks at 2 will leave him there at 3. Charlotte is putting out that they are taking Robinson simply to try to force a trade. They're vacillating back and forth between saying they want Barnes, Robinson, and MKG trying to force trades when all the while they really want Beal and something else for #2. Big poker game.
Just because we're talking to the Cavs doesn't mean Drummond isn't the target at #5. We just might like Drummond in addition another player in the top-4. That said, I sure hope we don't draft Drummond. I've said it numerous times before but I simply do not see it in him.
Wasn't Drummond the UConn player singing Thabeet's praises and commending him on his monster defensive abilities? I remember that raised some flags when he said that.
the more i think about it, the more i'm sure that using a high lotto pick on this guy is a big mistake. as someone already pointed out, the great ones never really had a lack of passion or work-ethic. He has the body but sounds like he doesn't have the head. Mid-to late lotto, maybe, but not top half of the lotto.
Yes. http://www.ctpost.com/sports/article/Kevin-Duffy-Despite-NBA-struggles-Thabeet-feels-2336121.php
My thoughts on the situation are as follows: 1. The preferred trade partners are the Kings and Raptors, because these teams both have (a) interest in Kyle Lowry, (b) a top 10 pick, and (c) about $11.5 million in 2011-12 cap room to absorb contracts without giving any money back. 2. The Kings and Raptors, however, have goals of their own and will not sign on to a deal with the Rockets right now because they are exploring whether there are better options out there. 3. As such, the Rockets must also explore their own options and speak to other teams in the top 10 both for the purpose of making a deal (perhaps there isn't an ideal match at first glance, but you never know) and, as HMMMHMM said, to create leverage in their deals with Kings and Raptors (i.e. if you don't close the deal soon, Kyle Lowry might be going elsewhere).
Would the Cavs be interested in Martin since all they have at the 2 is Daniel Gibson? And I don't see a C on their roster at all, so Dalembert might get some interest? Those 2, plus picks? Of course, they'd probably want us to take back Varajao's contract. Ugh.
I am getting a feeling that the best use of Kevin Martin is as a part of a trade offer to Atlanta. His contract matches Josh Smith's and Atlanta can use a SG (the lets replace Jamal Crawford on the cheap with McGrady and Willie Green thing never worked out). Besides, one year commitment only so Danny Ferry retains flexibility going forward. Maybe something like Kevin Martin + Morris + a 1st round pick?
So does that mean we would retain the draft picks we currently have? What? How would that deal go down?
If we don't get Robinson or Drummond, I'm going to burn all my Rockets gear, change my brand of tampon and NEVER EVER EVER EVER ROOT FOR THESE JERKDICKS AGAIN!!!!!!
