There's no way Morey would trade Lin for JR. Even LOHs know that Lin's better than someone whose net contribution is negative. Haha

On a more serious note. Only way I can see this working is Lin/Asik for Shump/Chandler/Hardaway. Otherwise, not good for the rockets. Shump gives us that wing defender and Chandler replaces Asik (and Chandler's better offensively). Hardaway gives us another great perimeter shooter for very cheap. Best of all, contracts all expire in time (2015).

The Knicks and Rangers boss (James Dolan) understands he is a lightning rod for the people that support his teams, that when things go wrong — and plenty has in the 15 years of his stewardship — you blame him. He gets it. And make no mistake, he is the boss, and wants to be the boss, and says unequivocally: “On my watch, it is my responsibility. All of it.”

Based on the above you can feel that he is a proud man and Knicks is under his watch. Do you really think that there is a chance that Lin will be back in New York.....?

As per below, Dolan is upset at Lin. This reinforced the possibility that he will not accept Lin.

The decision was both financial and emotional since Garden chairman James Dolan was upset over Lin restructuring his deal with Houston last week to include a third year salary of $14.9 million. Dolan, according to sources, felt he was deceived by the 23-year-old Lin.

Thanks for this. I had no idea that Dolan harbored resentment towards Lin personally. Getting a team to take Lin's balloon payment was always gonna be tough, but the same guy who got screwed by the poison pill is now gonna eat the poison pill? You'd have to be Jesus...or Lenny from Of Mice and Men.

    Dolan to a tee ;)

Knicks have no 1st till 2018 to trade

Shump - only plays defense and is afraid to shoot because he cant

Jr - solid defender, needs to take 13 fga to look avg., solid passer for his position, headcase, doesn't go to the rim, settles for midrange, good 3pt shooter

Hardaway Jr. - good 3 point shooter, good in transition, plays worst d than harden, suspect handles

Felton - bad at everything, ranks 45 out of 48 PGs

Lin - solid defender, solid outside shooter, good passer, elite finisher at the rim, efficient scoring, third best 6 man in the league , clutch, TO prone, loses focus on defense sometimes, suspect handles

Unless we get a 1st for Lin, none of those options are good

So well said. The Knicks don't have enough for Lin. Hardaway and Shumpert might not even be worth moving Lin for, unless we have a deal in place to move one of them for a pick...which you won't get for Jeremy Lin. Basically it has to be at least a 3 team deal for Lin to end up a Knick.

What's funny is if we trade for 3 of those guys, which one would u give min. Over Brooks, I would give 15 min. To Jr to rest Parsons and maybe 10 min to shump, with Brooks getting 25 min. A game

Lose lose situation all around for the rockets

Dolan is a sensitive guy but a loyal one. He's the opposite of Morey in terms of personality, who is much more analytical and calculating. Dolan just hasn't made good decisions as an owner when he wades into personnel and management issues. If the Knicks are interested in Lin, and reports indicate that is true, these overtures would not happen without the blessings of Dolan and Melo. I think Dolan is capable of 'forgiving' a 23 year old who was trying to protect a career that almost never got off the ground. The Knicks have determined that persistent weakness at the PG spot is killing them this year, and Lin is someone who would fill that gap. It would be a smart decision on their part to trade for him, especially since he has manageable cap hit and is a free agent in 2015.

Since off season and until now all I hear is that the Rockets wants to trade Lin and that nobody wants Lin because of his big contract. Now that somebody wants to trade for Lin .. what will Morey do?

deal or no deal? is that your final answer?

Really well said. And the additional excitement and revenue he'll generate doesn't hurt either ;)

Dude, that quote by Dolan still doesn't unequivocally say he's a proud man. Doesn't mean he isn't, but you can't determine that by just that quote. And all those other words is just ny media. It's not like they never try to dramatize every small thing. Cyke
