*Portis if he is available. Trade for a pg unless Morey really loves Tyus who I think is legit. Harden needs to play off the ball more. He gets too tire and starts to turnover the ball a lot.
Really, really liking what i have seen from Terry Rozier. One of the best defensive players in this draft. 6'2 with a 6'8 wingspan. He's climbing the charts with each workout. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/KSrN7xjXiFY" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
I like any of the PFs, Bobby Portis, Kevon Looney or Trey Lyles @ 18. They all have potential to develop into stretch 4s.
I personally think Winslow is overrated. He may have a long NBA career... but strikes me as more MKG or Wilson Chandler like than Kawhi or James even. What is Winslow's offensive game? Can he become the next Kawhi? I guess. Although his measurables don't put him near the freak level of size/athletcism that Kawhi is. He seems to be a decent enough shooter already. But when I saw him play, he also seemed to be taking advantages of mismatches he won't have as much in the NBA. He started the year as the SF. Coach K, WISELY, moved him to PF next to Okafor. with Okafor size and Winslow's strength, and it being college, it was a sort of small ball that worked, obviously.
I argue people a lot about Winslow on Reddit. I just don't see anything special in that kid. Not a top 10 draft pick in my book.
Somewhat interesting that Tyus Jones has the 9th highest chance of becoming a star, and 4th highest chance of becoming a starter. He also has the 9th lowest chance of being a bust.
http://nypost.com/2015/06/19/nba-mock-draft-4-0-knicks-dream-path-to-jahlil-okafor/ NY POST mock draft got us picking Looney with the 18th pick. I'm good with that.
http://bleacherreport.com/articles/...-predictions-and-top-fringe-prospects-to-know And Bleacher got us picking Booker. I seriously doubt he gets to 18.
Agreed, but Delon Wright is better for that role. Superior defender and even a higher 3PT% than Grant.
I love how people actually believe Lull is the answer. No clue he is a long shot to be an effective NBA PG, especially against a Curry and other top PG's in the game? Wow.
Also, without shoes, Hezonja is 6' 8" and Winslow is 6' 4 1/2" Winslow is closer in height to Steph Curry than he is to Hezonja.
reading Murry's quotes this morning I don't think we can necessarily say PG. it sounds like he is projecting 2 or 3 years out for #18
James set an NBA record for most turnovers in a play-off game this season and that was not an anomaly. James was a turn-over machine during the play-offs so yes....we do need another primary ball handler. Not to mention, James has to play so many minutes because the Rockets do not have an extra true point guard to handle the ball when he is out of the game. Its funny that NBA.draft, DraftExpress and now Chad Ford all has us taking Tyus Jones.
What did he say? I think Tyus is a 2 or 3 year project, so even if they want to retain Bev & sign Llull, Jones could still be our guy. Don't understand all the doubt around Winslow - he's an athletic freak with range, something that most athletic freaks don't have (Wesley Johnson, MKG). I think he will be VERY good. He's also just a bright kid, seems to make the right plays on the court 90% of the time.
Yep, it doesn't matter who we draft, he is very likely to spend the bulk of the year in D-League. As much as everyone always wants to draft the next NBA superstar, the reality is that you are successful if you get a solid rotation player at 18. If Jones has the ability to be a starter but not for another couple of years then I'm good with that.
Terrence Ross is also athletic freak with range, had 50+ points game in NBA, but I bet you wouldn't even draft him in this year draft's top 10.
tyus jones has sam cassell written all over him. clutch rookie shooter. makes the most out of less athleticism. wins two rings in houston?!
