Francis is upset because he didn't anticipate getting less minutes than Rafer Alston and Mike James. If something doesn't change he'll be getting less minutes here than he was in New York. That won't make him happy. He probably thought he had the inside track to a starter role. Probably would have had it with the clippers.

    hmm, a logical thought:

clips - cassell is turning 50 and livingston won't play this yr. prollie will play around 30-35 mins.

houston - has 2 PGs already w/ the best playmaker outside of steve nash, how many minutes?

if he wanted mins, he knew where to get it. even if he started in houston, he wouldn't get more than 15-20 a game.

    he chose his fate.

Good stuff, thanks. Yao said the new offense is simple and easy for him. If he says easy, it really is. I believe he feels very comfortable now. Shane said he saw Yao can shoot 3 in warm-up. Could the coach use it occasionally? Since nobody would expect he would fire behind the arc.

Bonzi Wells is very articulated...along with Battier. But Bonzi is a smooth talker based on some of the interviews i seen. I never thought of that for a known trouble maker. He looks like a cool guy...this tells me JVG really suck man!! He's too harsh on players and i always tend to believe that he crippled a player's talent in order to fit his plan...that's not a good way to coach. I mean there are ways to coach that maximized a player's potential and yet still be disciplinary. JVG's way of coaching does not maximize a player's potential...and i feel kind of sorry for some of the quality players like Battier who had to rely on just standing outside and watch and shoot 3 as oppose to do many other things that he's capable. Yao not allow to shoot wide open 15ft shot. Head and Rafer not allow ing to drive much and had to stand outside to shoot 3. And Chuck seems to have the ability to pass under Adelman and create play but under JVG...there is no chance for that. THe list goes on.........

So the best summer move is probably replacing Jeff so far!!

Bonzi- "It's not about me, it's about the team"...now thats a good sign...

oh and does Rafer's voice remind you a little bit of Mike Tyson?

Worst comes to worst, we can ship him for a pick or some cash or something to the Clippers who are going to need something with Brand and Livingston out for a while!

Bonzi Wells may or may not have been injured, but he sure was fat. If that's Van Gundy's fault, so be it.

The guy was a free agent, he knew what he was getting into when he signed with the Rockets.

Yao4REAL, Bonzi has always been a smooth interview, even when he was a Jailblazer. Don't let him being articulate fool you. He's still Bonzi but hopefully he'll be close to trouble-free this season for us.

SF does seem a bit irritated but so be it. Eventually he'll get more comfortable and productive, thereby earning more minutes. Judging from the way they were chatting on the bench, locking arms and standing up together, SF has no animosity towards Tracy or Yao. It could be that he's the first player to have a major gripe with Adelman. Stay tuned. We'll see.

I think that's his tone for reporters. He's sounded like this from day one.

I think Steve Francis would be the last person to cause backstage/locker room problems for the Rockets. The only time he has caused problems is if he is somewhere he doesn't want to be. Vancouver, post-mobley trade and New York. In Houston, he was never a problem except for a few run-ins with JVG but I understand lots of players have too.

He knew what was at stake. He signed with us knowing there were already 3 PGs that he has to fight to get a spot. He just wanted to be somewhere he actually liked and that's why he came back to Houston. If he was so worried about playing time, he easily could have signed with the Clippers or Heat who have little depth at PG. But he chose to come back home to H-Town. Steve is here to stay and will win a championship with Yao and T-Mac.

are you sure he knew there were 3 PGs fighting for the spot? i remember a reporter asked him earlier if he would be starting and he said "i better be!". obviously francis still thinks hes the man and thought he would be able to start and get good minutes here, especially with all the rafer hate last year. i think he'll be very disappointed once he realizes he wont get as many minutes as he thought as will all the francis homers out there.

plus, francis is what, 29, 30? he's still young. noone wants to waste their good years on the bench. all NBA players share the same goal and that's to PLAY. noone would be happy, Francis especially, if he didn't get as many minutes as he'd like.

Francis will get his time to shine for us, I can easily picture a night where the starting unit is struggling a bit to score some points throughout the game, Yao gets in early foul trouble, and here comes Francis in off the bench to save our butts.

Similiar to that one game Sura had for us against the Nets at Houston a few years back. I think he scored somewhere in the mid 20s, he came out of nowhere and really became a catalyst for us winning that game.

That's what I said...his tone hasn't changed since his press conference. I think it's just his media voice....he doesn't like talking to back stabb'n reporters. Some of you are searching too deep for SF drama. Of course he wants more minutes and a starter role......who doesn't?

Wow, your hate is ridiculous. Yes, all NBA players share a goal and that is to win a NBA championship. Steve was the main man for many years, he had his time. BTW, it was a radio DJ who asked him if he was going to start. But I guess confidence is a bad thing also. Anyways, in his Press conf, when real reporters asked him what would be his role and he said he will fill whatever role that they want him to play.

Seriously though, what exactly do you have against Steve Francis? I know you dislike him as a basketball player but the way you constantly talk about him is like he slept with your wife/girl or something. It's like you don't want him to do good at all. You just want him to fail so you can feel better about yourself. How sad. I just hope you don't kill yourself when you see that Francis will get more playing time than you think. I suggest you get some help beforehand.
