i am going to have to...but (sadly like t-mac) i am afraid they will tell me i need microfracture again. microfracture sucks hard. you have to be on crutches for 3 months and then it takes forever for your knee good again. i don't really want to be out for another 18 months since i am getting ready to be 29.
again...even as untrustworthy as t-mac is with his ability to diagnose his health you have to trust him since this has been going on for so long. there is something wrong. the injuries happen after more and more use which to me screams that there is something wrong that will need surgery. it could be extremely minor or major...who knows but they need to do a scope. hell the rockets should demand he do a scope if the the mri can't find the issue and t-mac still proclaims there is one. that is the only option. nothing makes sense. they should have already done a scope if t-mac feels something is this wrong with his knee. i dunno...maybe i am thinking too much from my frame of mind. because i know my knee is jacked up and i know i need surgery because i can feel the cartilage moving around in my knee. who knows what is wrong....
I feel bad for Mcgrady. I think the injury is really hurting his ability to play effectively on the court. Say what you want, but only he knows how bad it really is. I believe there are cases where even the latest instruments cannot detect certain type of injuries and as a result doctors are not sure what is wrong with TMac. Try to put yourself in his shoes and do you really think he wants to be faking injury at this point of his career? He has never gotten out of the first round of playoff. He really has a talented team this year where he has a chance of advancing in the playoff and you guys still think that he is faking it? I'm just as frustrated as anyone because I thought we have a good talent this year. It is very unfortunate that TMac is having these issues. The fact of the matter is we are not going to go very far without TMac being fully healthy. I think the best thing to do at this point is to get as much information as we can get about his knee and give him rest until he feels healthy again (as someone else mentioned have him go through workout that makes his knee stronger) I would take my chances with somewhat healthy TMac as oppose to TMac that cannot be himself.
unfortunately, like tmac says, he cant be playing 5-6 good games and then sucking the next few and needing to rest for a week again. if there really is an injury, sitting this one game out, wont help him. until he finds out the real problem, he needs to sit it out. so he should sit out longer and get those phx doctors to look at him. if by any miracle they do find the problem, hopefully he gets to come back by playoff time. if not, there's next year. he should not do what d.wade did and come back and sucked playing games. he should just rest and look at things for the long term. he can still win a championship in the future. by 2010, he's a free agent. if i were him, id sign with the team who looks most likely to win a championship even at reduced pay (e.g. lakers or wherever lebron goes).
last time i checked his contract wasn't going to get revoked if he needed surgery. if he gets the surgery now then he has the potential to still sign a huge contract when his is up in 2010.
I wonder if we could use the placebo effect on T-Mac. If it's really all mental with T-Mac and if what the doctors reported is true about there being nothing wrong with the MRI... Could some doctor give T-Mac a "magical pill" (in reality a placebo) that would cure him of his "injuries" and see if he performs better? That would be interesting.
D Wade did some sort of treatment or therapy where they worked the knee out and strengthened it.......Tmac should look into that....shut him down for the year the team is better off without him. DD
T-Mac's not just misdiagnosing his health. Who do you think got that crap about season ending injuries into the Channel 2 story? Who do you think got that crap about microfracture surgery into the Channel 2 story? He's flat out lying right now. He has zero credibility at this point. Does anyone else get a sense of deja vu? From Orlando?
He should have sat out months ago till after the All-Star game! Now we cant even trade him... its all planned out
Lying about what? That he's injured? Come on man how can you watch the guy this year and come to the conclusion that he's healthy. He hasn't had his explosion or mobility all season long. Why do you so badly want to believe that he's not playing hurt?
so what exactly is new tonight that we didn't know before? i'm confused. did his knee get any different or worse? the mri shows nothing. then why mention another surgery scenario? seeking 2nd opinion? in my reckoning, he's got at least a half dozen already - from the top dogs of the country. it's almost like "hey doc, if you can't find something terribly wrong, i'm going to see the next one until one of y'all says so..." feels like a new episode of a tiring drama. and meanwhile, the team had a 40pts turnaround from losing indecently to a bad team to handsomely beating another.
I'm tired of the McGrady soap opera. Wow! I've modified my position and now believe he is this team's biggest problem. He's a distraction and the team seems to play better without him (if everybody else is healthy). Sit him out for the rest of the season and when other NBA teams start hovering over the Rockets for his expiring contract, then we cash in.
I, too, understand how an MRI/X-Ray can show no damage, but you still have soreness. The day after thanksgiving I broke my left ankle in two places and it required immediate surgery. Now I can tell the ankle is almost entirely healed, but my doctor has already told me I will deal with bouts of soreness whenever extreme weather changes occur in houston. So I can understand how he feels good one day, and it is very sore the next.
The worst part is he has repeatedly stated he does not want to go under the knife again. That tells me he would prefer to fly around the country getting doctor after doctor to look at his knee and/or look at the MRI instead of putting this all to rest by letting someone get in there with arthroscopic surgery so that a very, very definitive diagnosis can be made.
Exactly as written, the report is a joke. If TMac never plays again for the Rockets it won't change the salient fact that, as far as we know, there's nothing wrong with the knee. There is a story there though, and you guys completely missed it.
