And just a comment on his "Questionable Attitude" Everybody knows that he would much rather be playing baseball than basketball. It's not like it was his childhood dream to be in the NBA... (which just shows how freakishly gifted he really is)
Sometimes its not as much about the money but about how much it will hurt your team to leave. For example, Limas Sweed from the Longhorns. #1 WR got injured during practice. Got it checked out, was told it needed surgery and it was season-ending. Told the media that it wasn't bad and he was at 100%. Kept playing and played mostly ineffectively before revealing the true extent of his injury. The reason why he kept playing was because he knew his absence would hurt the team a great deal. He risked millions for his team. I'm not saying that T-Mac is the same. However, until it is proven otherwise, I give him the benefit of the doubt.
McGrady talks about how much of a badass he was in high school baseball. I know a lot of guys who could same thing. That means nothing. I'd love to see some scouting reports, if there are any, from real MLB scouts.
Like I said. . . . Pull him out for the rest of 2007 Let him rest. . get an MRI . . something definative I am tired of playing this guessing game with him Will T-Mac Play? If he plays will he play hard? Will he care? f*** all that . . get the MRI . . .Go into OPERATION SHUT DOWN like you did when you pulled yourself out of the last few games of 2005 I beleive and call it a season if you have too . . . Simply put. . Get Healthy, get the f*** out of the way or something! Rocket River
people are looking to vilify someone. In the past it's been JVG and now that he is gone and the team is playing like garbage and some of the same issues are there, (poor shootin) and new issues have arised...people need a scapegoat. Tmac is that guy this year. saying he is mailing it in, saying "guys at the pickup courts play with banged knees all the time", etc etc... is just comical and flat out unfair to the guy. Plus, he is an easy target because he is naturally a laidback guy and people can take that for not caring.
Friday November 17, 2006 http://www.nba.com/rockets/news/McGrady_might_pursue_baseball_-195887-34.html "I think I'll be done with this game in my early 30's," McGrady said. "I would be a pitcher. I got a knuckleball, slider, changeup, curve and whatever."
It's just annoying to me that he's developing the same attitude from when he was in Orlando. "My teammates suck, I'm really good (and when I'm not its because I'm injured) but yeah my teammates suck..." No leadership... How would you like to be his teammate and hear him talking about you like that?
well if it's true...? then not much you can say. I admit, I don't like his interviews. I admire his honesty in answering questions, but sometimes it's just a bit too much. Less can be more
T Mac is hurt. T Mac get well soon T Mac we will miss you but hope to see you on the court as soon as possible
Weisbrod is unemployed, as he should be. He traded T-Mac for essentially Doug Christie. Say what you want about T-Mac, but the Rockets have been better the last 4 seasons than they would have been with Francis, Mobley, and Cato. (no disrespect to Mobley)
Thank you. Another case of "what have you done for me lately." T-Mac carried this team to 52 wins last year with Juwan Howard and Dikembe Mutombo as his sidekicks for a large chunk of the season. He's obviously hurt right now, and can't go. Everybody could see him limping up and down the court during the first half last night. I don't think he was faking or being lazy. Sure, McGrady has been up and down this year. But its not his fault that our Point guards suck and that Shane can't shoot anymore. Everyone deserves blame, but lets not make McGrady the sole scapegoat here.
"doctors, coaches, trainers, and everybody saw how i was moving out there and just decided to shut me down" -tmac - haha didnt know doctors and trainers had a say on making a player ride the pine. "im still not gonna have an mri b/c im afraid it might be worse than i think it is. we're gonna do ice and get medicine to my knee" - hahaha what a joke, and i thought ostriches were effing r****ded for burying their heads so they cant see danger coming. "oh we struggle when im IN the game. we're not making shots right now. we shoot 20% in the first half and 30something percent overall." - yes, glad you've realized you are the source of the problem. but wished you attended college to realize that shooting 10% just might be the reason your team shot 20% in the first half. man, tmac open your freakin eyes. who the hell do you think you are??
WEll he's coached 2 teams, the knicks and the rox. The knicks had Charles Oakley. Tmac and rox win by default....
