We are only allowed in after practice while the team is wrapping up shooting free throws. Yao looked fine, but I'm not a doctor, and Adelman seemed to think he was ok. Yao said it felt a lot different (meaning less severe) than the foot issue he had last season and he could tell it's not the same sort of thing. I know that doesn't tell you much. The only "gem" from today was Dorsey joking(?) to Artest that he's getting paid as much now as he did at Memphis. Reminded me of Barkley who often said the same thing about his days at Auburn.
Tracy should take some cues from Yao on how to deal with injury questions. I like how Yao mentioned "July, August" as his time to rest. That's bc we'll be spending all of May and June in the playoffs getting to the championship!
Adelman: Yao's Fine Can we lock that "Yao to miss two days" thread now? Sometimes the baseless rumors that start on this forum are just really aggravating.
Hopefully Yao will actually be involved in the offense during the playoffs and not forced to run around setting picks while being ignored by the PG when he does post up.
wasn't he talking about the Lakers? I'm pretty sure he said no one on the Lakers could, but he'd probably agree no one in the nba could also..
RA " Keith Jones seems not concerned, so it must not be serious". Heck, since when KJ was concerned until there is a discovery of knee fracture, shoulder fracture, whatever hell it can be. Keith is such a happy guy.
great news. yao seemed very positive about playing the rest of the season / post season. a little rest goes a long way. i can't wait to see what kind of season he has next year after a whole summer of rest. has he ever had that much time off before?
he was talking about the lakers. the original convo was about whom could upset LA. jvg said hou could because we could throw 2 premier perimeter defenders at kobe and no one else could. plus that they had no one that could d yao. jax said they did have someone, and jvg cut him offand said "no. no. no. they have no one that can defend yao. you're being silly." there was no mention of the rest of the L.
There is also a chance that the Rockets are laying down the foundation of an excuse why Yao Ming can't play this summer.
Thanks for the video, hilltopper. Feigen just further confirmed Yao's fine and will play. http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/sports/6370587.html
