And a guy who would have found only negatives in the 6 wins.

And this is coming from the guy that butted heads with Steve, along with other players in his past. If he was coachable under JVG, then he definitely is under RA. The major point that JVG knocks on though is the part where is says, "Here's what you don't know: Have the things that happened to him since he left here taken away his love for the game? Taken away his passion? Only he knows that." Seems like the worst thing to happen to Steve and his career was getting traded.

one could say negative, or one could say constructive, or another could say addressing some opportunities for improvement.

jvg, as harsh as he sometimes was, was a realist.

and the truth of the matter, if it wasnt for a huge, fortunate offensive board from yao after a rafer brick and also that prayer 3 pointer from battier...

we would be 4-5 with a sub .500 record.

we are very fortunate to not be that right now, we need to thank lady luck not our play in those 2 very close victories.

Here here! This team right now doesn't have an identity. Hopefully we'll find one soon but it's neither high powered offense or stifling defense.

JVG's offense was ugly but his defense always kept us in the game and kept it close. So far RA's system, if we're not hitting our shots we're doomed. Teams are scoring on us on plays that more than likely would have been stops last season.

I know the offense is gonna get better but I just hate relying on something that can be inconsistent. You can always play defense. You can't always score.

RA hasn't been that much more positive at all since he's been here. If anything he's on the same level of negativity as JVG thus far.

    there were plenty.

the offense hasnt been that pretty thus far this year either. Oddly enough, the plays that do work with regularity are those that the rockets ran last year. P&R with tmac and whoever else, and yao in the post

i thought about that too. This teams "leaders" may actually need to be challenged like JVG did, more so at least than adelman does.

"And a guy who would have found only negatives in the 6 wins."

I believe the quote JVG operated by was "Don't accept in victory what you wouldn't accept in defeat." Call it being negative if you want, I'll call it saying what you think and striving for perfection.

The bottom line is, there's no identity with this team like there was the past 3 seasons. Every player stepping foot on the court looks totally confused and runs around with no clue, while Adelman sits/stands on the bench/sidelines with his mouth open and saying nothing. Absolutely no discipline, and no clearly defined roles either...JVG wouldn't have tolerated this garbage

I've watched every minute of the past 4 seasons, and I'll say it again...this team needs a vocal leader. Rafer can provide a piece of that role, but when his teammates see that he doesn't have the game to back it up, they may stop listening. That's not to bash the 2 stars on the team, but they are what they are...great players that don't hold the rest of the team accountable. The way the team's constructed, they absolutely NEED somebody to get in people's faces, and that's exactly why I was questioning the move to bring in Adelman in the first place.

The offense has gotten WORSE, the defense has gotten WORSE, and Adelman still stands there without saying a word through the whole game. I see no adjustments from game to game either, and a guy who has no idea what he's doing with the rotation. Case in point, Scola probably had his best half of the season last night, and didn't touch the floor in the second half.

A 6-1 record to start the season was fool's gold. They did get a good win in Utah, and struggled to beat an also struggling Tim Duncan and the Spurs. But any realist can see that they haven't played that well at all, and every game has been a struggle.

Last year's team also won (usually easily) the games they should have against lesser opponents, instead of struggling the whole game and relying on pulling out close games. Last year's team also found ways to win the games in which they were struggling for points...the past 2 games have provided a stark difference in that regard.

There's a lot of holes in this team, and they're starting to be exploited. Sure, shots may start falling, but when that happens it can only cover up the weaknesses that are being exposed right now for so long.

The team needs some taller players, more athletic and experienced in winning.

Forget somebody with a big mouth or over inflated emotion.

Luther Head is worthless right now. That's what I don't like about plain jumpshooters. Once the shots aren't falling they can't do anything else to help you win a game. Makes me wonder if Mike Harris could've helped us last night, because he would have tried to get to the bucket.

Snyder has no jumper and they dared him to shoot, that's a problem. Rafer is not the point guard this team needs, becuase he's also challened to shoot the ball. To say he can be a vocal leader is insane. You cannot lead anybody when you suck worse than everybody.
The team doesn't need that kind of weakness in battle.

It's sad that the team crumbles when McGrady isn't on the floor like they do. There is no one on the team with some poise.

Even big Yao gets consistently stripped under pressure.
I felt like slapping him when he had Farmar guarding him in the post and all he did was throw up an 8 foot hook shot. Yao take advantage man.

I agree, but at least they didn't crumble last night. They actually made a game of it, but they were missing the guy who usually brings it home.
