lol, dangum, superman got knocked the **** out! all i know is that if someone sucker punched me and then sat down on a stool to finish his eggs, i would had dropped kicked em off of his stool. all silliness aside, now i understand y he was playing like garbage all season long. its good to see him regain that self confidence, and i would like to see him succeed when he comes back. however knowing that the team can carry on w/o him there, he should take the additional 7-14 days to continue to strengthen his body so that he is 110% for the playoff push. i would hate for him to come back too soon and get hurt again.
You would give up Artest for Hinrich? I know our point guard situationi is bad, but it is not bad. Mike Miller isnt even a point guard..... WTF?
Its funny how Shane can get away with being useless, yet people will never put him in trade talks. That is unless you're Jerry West who always get the better end of trades.
leeb, you and i think alike. to most of these guys, shane's hustle is enough to cloud his pathetic offense and how he's slowly becoming a liability on offense b/c he can't dribble, create... artest better play more minutes than shane down the stretch and in the playoffs b/c i cringe whenever shane is in the game for 35+ mins now b/c i know he's gonna be a ghost offensively. if von wafer hasn't stepped up, i would have grilled battier by now. but usually wins makes you forget a lot of things (shane's bad offense and bad team defense).
And in your expert opinion, can he really recover that much in 10 days? I found the interview pretty puzzling because the body and muscles usually needs two or three days to heal after a workout. I don't get how they can "cram" the recovery in two weeks time.
Looks like a PR video... with the testimony from the paid trainer, to the workout room backdrop. I'll reserve judgment. I'll believe it when I see it on the court.
Work on one certain areas of your body one day, and other parts the next. Also supplements probably help. Not sure if creatine is NBA legal but I used to take it! When you start benching again after not benching for a long time, it's like that. I used to bench 215lbs and I stopped for a year and could barely do 100 ish. After a couple of days I got back up pretty high.
I'll believe it when he plays consistenly for a month. TMac looked good when he came back from the last break he took...for two games.
Guys please. If you know nothing or next to nothing about sports conditioning and muscle recovery, try not to post about it okay? "I dont believe that Shemac can do that in 10 days" coming from your mouth translates to "I dont believe tmac because I dont like him" and/or "I am a complete idiot who likes to just randomly give my opinion about things I have no idea about"
Stop talking TMac! Lay it low and then come out and prove it! We don't want to here how your "left upper muscle" is feeling and whether you sleep well, we want to see you providing on the floor..
ive been advocating trading shane for mike miller. miller is tmac's friend. being here would be a big help to tmac's confidence. not to mention the fact that the guy can shoot the lights out. artest will pick up the defensive intensity from losing battier. battier + head + hayes for miller + madsen could work. minny gets a perimeter defender and veteran leadership in battier. they get head to offset losing a 3pt shooter. also, they get hayes to replace madsen. we get a big SG/SF who can shoot and slash. we get a bigger defender in madsen if you decide to play him. and the best part is their contracts expire just in time for 2010. if the lineup doesnt work rockets'll have plenty of capspace to sign whomever they want. i would have wanted to trade rafer away with a 3rd team to get a quality PG, but halfway into the season isnt the best time to let go of your starting PG. but the miller/battier trade wouldnt affect the chemistry much since battier hasnt been playing with the team that long.
"Action speaks louder than words" comes to mind after you let it sink in. It's great that he feels good and his trainer praises him but everybody knows talk is cheap, especially with McGrady. I hope, like many do, he has to prove himself and not just come back taking all Wafer's minutes. What really suprised me was that his trainer said after the surgery in May, he hasn't worked out for 7 months. If that's true then he just started hitting the gym in December which is hard to believe. I cannot say I know what it's like to have surgery, rehab and all that. Keep in mind though that T-mac has had injuries throughout his whole career so it's logical that it takes him more time than most. Some people are mentally weaker than most and that's probably what's the biggest problem with Tracy. That's not something you can just overcome, but I sincerely hope McGrady cares about the city, his team and his teammates because he has to put those first. He has to understand the frustration from the fans, the sportswriters and maybe even his teammates. We vice versa have to understand Tracy is not your regular workhorse, has been injury prone since his early days in the NBA and therefore cautious about the situation. Let's hope from now on, the coaching staff will keep the team first in mind, then Tracy as a person. If Tracy says he feels good, but looks bad on the court and it's obvious it's hurting the team (even though RA was reluctant to admit that), just take him out and let him rehab as long as he needs. Just don't give him the All-Start treatment and make him have to earn every minute, especially with the emergence of Von Wafer. The guy has worked his but off so you have to reward that. Hopefully, Tracy speaks the truth like most of the times and can really return @ Detroit / NY. It doesn't matter anymore if he needs a month or even two months now, because I rather have a fully healthy Tracy in the playoffs than the lazy one we saw most of this season. It's not about working through the injury anymore neither, because obviously Tracy cannot handle that. We need to lower our expectations and just hope he can give us a boost come playoff time, I don't care if we don't see him much until then. We can try to work out a deal next year, if it has to come to that. I hope we won't because Tracy sounds sincere about wanting to play but let's wait and see what happens.
Oh yes, that is what we have been waiting for. We want to see real T-Mac. Too bad you decidec to shut it down that late, but at least you are doing it now. What I love about is that he dunked without problems (it is all MENTAL) and he was able to lift weights with no pain. ALso I feel like he has lost some weight. 'The coaches challanged me to dunk" - I love that You know what, I am so optimistic. Because when he says he is fine, he is. We all know Tracy is HONEST. I am really looking forward to see him being a real T-Mac once again. Great !
i dont think we're supposed to take the trainer literally when he said tmac didnt work out for 7months. the guy did rehab on the knee though not seriously (as was posted by some guy who had a sister who saw tmac fooling around during rehab). i guess because of the knee surgery, tmac didnt get the chance to do his offseason workout which included running on the track which kept him from getting into game shape. way i see it, he rehabbed half heartedly because he's been told that it's a minor operation and you could get strength back almost immediately. and so tmac didnt take the rehab seriously as he probably thought he could play himself into shape based on what he heard. but then the pain/weakened knee persisted. he asked for a 3week off, got hurt by the criticisms, rushed back, played good for a few games, and then not having done his regimen, was still out game shape. now he's going through the same regimen he usually has in the offseason. here's hoping the results are the same when he started the season last year with MVP performance before he got hurt.
more importantly I'm pumped that an entire offseason can now be completed in a few days..... damn if can get on this program I could be the next Matt Maloney if this break really is helping, he either did nothing before or is an ice sculpture mentally, if the team keeps winning why not keep the offseason miracle thru the All-Star break
T-Mac can't wait to come back, I could tell from the video. We all know 'haste makes waste' but this time is a bit different since he says 'im back'. Anyone know when hes scheduled to come back? Was it after Utah game?
