He isn't. This is a crap ass story. I'm a personal trainer myself and I know you can't just take somebody and work out with them 10 days and pull a complete 180. IT DOESN'T HAPPEN. Your body has to have time to heal and recover which means at most he's working out is maybe 3 hours per day. Even being a world class athlete, you're not going to get three months of results in 10 days. I work in Wayne Hall's profession and have trained student athletes that have younger bodies than Tmac's and I'm not buying that in 10 days he 'is his old self.' Recovery and gains like that don't happen in such a short amount of time. Of course he could be his old self and has just been straight doggin it for the whole season...
I don't know about Tmac...but Roy had the same knee surgery in August of this year, Kobe had it in July last year and played 77 games.....Sometimes it is about the mental toughness of the player that is going through it. To be fair to Tmac - this was his first surgery, getting through the mental hurdle of realizing your knee is not going to explode is a big thing. At the end of the day, I am happy he is FINALLY getting better, especially in the head.....that is most of what he needed to do. DD
<br> I think everyone will wait and see.. There's nothing else you can do But, that being said I think this useless bashing has gone on wayyy too long and is getting really old Grow the Frick up... I can't believe some of you people are 40+ and act like this... See thread titled "she mac blah blah blah"
Please get a new trainer Tmac.... - its not exactly a miracle. Your body "forgets" certain movements after so long (like months in Tmac's case). so after his first couple of workouts he'll see a dramatic improvement because the body starts to remember or learn the movements. the first workout (115lbs bench for example) will be awful, but it'll shoot up (185 lbs) early on as the body adapts. Don't expect him to improve much after this because the body usually settles in after re-learning the movements and improvements are slower. -his trainer said he's actually doing a lifting regimen and not just circuit training, but what he was doing on the video looked like a circuit workout to me. He's still using momentum and bending his back, which isn't as bad as the video floating around youtube because he's using very light weight here, but still, i'd expect perfect form from a pro athlete who has a trainer right in front of him.
Like the trainer said, it took him physically preparing himself before the mental aspect was solved. I agree with that statement 100 percent. When you mention Roy, first of all hes a younger guy so obviously hes going to recover faster and stay in great shape. Second of all, he didn't have shoulder surgery too, did he?
i can't believe this. T-Mac's so worried about losing what little fanbase he has that he has to make a video of himself pumping iron to reassure everyone that he can still play. i got to give it to t-mac. he's a sly dog! Newflash T-mac: pumping iron isn't going to improve that broke jumper of yours!
Tmac can be average in the weight room, but if he is himself on the basketball court, i could care less. Let's just focus on the fact that he feels like himself for the first time all year.
Its still surgery which is something that takes time to recover from. Obviously the surgeries in the summer limited tmac in his workouts this offseason. He hasnt been himself this year mentally or physically, but to down play the impact of the two surgeries is just ignorant.
But he could get his CONFIDENCE back in 10 days, right? Which is what I have been saying all along...it is all in his head. DD
What proof do you have that he ignored rehab? In the video, the trainer himself says that tmac did a good job rehabbing both injuries, but he just wasnt in top shape because he didnt get a chance to do his normal offseason conditioning program.
We don't know that he ignored rehab. Seems like rehap is part of any post-surgery treatment anyway - athlete or not. But the question is why he didn't completely his workout routine. Did he feel he wasn't ready? Was he holding back? Was their pain or the fear of pain? Everyone reacts differently to surgery...and not every procedure is the same. There's a bell curve with recovery times. Different bodies have different ways of healing and recovering and different complications - even to minor procedures. That said, he probably could have come into the season better off...but let's remember one thing: T-mac missed most of pre-season because he wasn't able to play. So he might have still been in recovery mode. It just seems like you are jumping on his case no matter what he does Dada...which is fine, but I don't think you are making a case that's going to persuade many others.
DD, how long until you stop bashing t-mac on jazzfanz? Such a traitor. T-Mac is part of this team, until he's not you should keep it easy.
battier , yao ,atest ,alston ,,,,,all have experience of injure , they didnt say "i will be back" ,they were back fianally. after injure ,after failure in playoff ,t-mac generally said i will be back , but where is t-mac , the ture t-mac had been dead for three years . he was dead in Dalas three years ago .
Ok I can't get this video to work and I've never gotten one of these vids to work of click2houston. I have the latest flash too. Is there any other way to watch this vid?
