life is tough. piss off with that poor "woooo is me!" attitude. he should play because the nba "is" the premiere stage to showcase. because the nba "is" where he makes the most money because the nba "is" the only place he can prove himself to be who he thinks he is. now take your keyboard and go home, because you shouldn't put up with this treatment
And because the NBA "is" the place to get jobbed over and over again. Yup, good reasoning. Then, he should just get a big contract in 2010 and become the new TSlack ... not work hard and get paid really, really well.
seriously, what is wrong with you? Do you view life as something that is fair all the time? If something doesn't work out for you the first time do you just quit and go? If not, then why are you crying so damn much? This is how the NBA is and has always been. And by the frickin way, it's a pretty posh ass life. I'll take a few hundred mill to get jobbed on some calls, rather than work myself to the bone so I don't get laid off due to the economy. Quit being a baby and realize the greater picture.
Well as a Rockets fan I would hope Yao doesn't leave beacause he got his feelings hurt over some foul calls. If he left because of that he would be nothing but a big crybaby Momma's Boy (Vspan). It's a poor reason to leave Yao would have no competition in China. Shaq has had a long successful career (Hall of Fame) while admitting having to play with the same officiating Yao is facing. He can be successful and is.
Yao watched Hakeem on tv, hoping one day to play on that same stage. I don't think he's dedicated his whole life so he can dominate in the Chinese league, in front of a limited audience, otherwise he would've stayed there. You look at the work ethic of the Lebrons, Kobes, etc. I think it's safe to say Yao has a very similar work ethic. They aren't doing it just for the money. They all have a desire to be the best, and to show the world they are the best at all costs. And to give up all he's worked for, his dream come true, for what? Because he's not getting all the proper foul calls? In the big picture of things, Yao is not being 'treated poorly'. He's not in some sweatshop, he's not working tons of extra hours w/ out compensation, he's not being harassed or discriminated in the 'office'. On second thought, maybe you should take your own advice. ClutchFans is the NBA of sports bbs. Go hang out on the ESPN boards instead and see if that's satisfying enough.
It's reassuring to see the amount of respect that Shaq and Yao have for each other and the game. They are both descendants of the great lineage of centers throughout NBA history. The Dream passed the torch to Shaq and Shaq has now passed it to Yao. I think Dwight Howard needs to learn some more post moves before he will be among the greats, his amazing rebounding and shot blocking skills notwithstanding. I am more impressed with Al Jefferson, with his array of post moves and Hakeem-esque footwork. But Yao is the greatest all around center in the game today. No question.
Bravo, you dont earliy give up what you have been worked for even life treated you unfair.you can complain, you can get mad,you can do anything to explore youself, but you dont give you.otherwise, you are--loser.
I don't think life is fair. And yes, the NBA is a pretty good deal, but for Yao, it isn't the only good deal that's available to him. He can earn millions outside of the NBA ... it isn't the only game in town. Your job is probably pretty good compared to the average citizen of a third world nation. Does that mean your boss can mistreat you and you have to suck it up? I frankly don't care very much where Yao plays. It would be bad to lose him, yes, and I'd rather him stay. But he has to realize his place in life too ... he can be a highly respected, highly paid dominant player in another league or a poorly respected, mistreated player in the NBA.
You must live with your mom because that's the only place where your boss (your mom) will treat you fairly. /ownage
I think Yao is too much of a competitor, has too much pride and work ethic to let the poor refereeing sway him to leave the league. Besides he wants a few championship banners hanging in the rafters in Houston to prove the non-believers wrong.
It was about year 6-7 that Shaq finally started to get respected by the officials... Yao should be hitting his stride with the officials protecting him instead of letting players nitpick their way around guarding him.
northeastfan isnt even a Rockets fan. He's a New Jersy Nets fan stuck in the wrong forum. Just look at his username. He doesnt belong here since he hates every single Rockets player with a passion. He only watches our games so he gets more fuel to roast our team.
i suspect that has much to do mchale in minny (just like he taught kg some). don't remember he's this good when in boston.
That's an interesting thought. I think Big Al is shining because he is given the chance to be the Star of his team. You know if Al Jefferson learns how to play defense, he would easily be better than both Yao and Howard. It's just the fact that he's god awful on defense and also the fact that his team sucks and the Wolves never win.
Yao should probably stain his skin with black shoe polish. THEN he'll get the Shaq-officiating-respect he deserves after 7 years in the league.
