The irony of this post is that wink2moochie07 is exactly the type of guy Rafer was talking about in his comments.

uh, that's a sign that this team is developing that "swagger" man. i want rafer to think he's elite so he doesn't back down against the truly elite PGs.

and it's really telling how everybody on this team is slowly developing that killer swagger we all want, on and off the court.

    - tmac talking about not getting tired of winning and showing A TON of energy in the first half
    - yao talking about how the hornets may be the #1 team but we're only 4 games behind so it really doesn't matter to him
    - battier taking shots with confidence and making a really nice bounce pass to landry
    - landry is a beast: NUFF SAID. dude's swagger was always there
    - rafer is now playing like he's a star himself and doesn't even think about passing to tmac/yao all the time

we still have some guys that need to catch up and develop this swagger like head and brooks.

but i love it. we're playing very fearless right now. when the heat made that run, it did nothing to this team. nobody panicked. we executed and put it back to double digits and stayed on cruise control.

all great teams are cocky and have that swagger. we're slowing developing that.

Ive never heard Chris Paul, Kidd, Deron, Billups or any actual elite point guard say the things Rafer just said. I have however heard guys like Francis, Starbury, Robinson etc claim they are one of the best.

Theres a difference between swagger and ego. Humbleness and Hubris. Rafer is playing well NOW but I suppose people forget his 90% of crappy games. This reminds me exactly of Carlos Rogers 2 week span of good games like 7 seasons ago when its seemed like everyone in this city was claiming he is the next get PF. Then he went back to sucking ass and combing his afro.

This Jackson trade doesnt look too bad now.

Obviously you don't know basketball to think Billups doesn't have that. Billups is one of my favorites and for that reason, that confidence. Just look back at that game when they played the Celtics. Gilbert Arenas has that swagger, and hes been good for his team other than those injuries.

I may be a bit off on the quotes because I listened to the interview about 10 hours ago but... Rafer: "People who don't understand basketball are obsessed with scoring." "Oh, I've been contributing the last two years, I've been scoring 10 points a game..."

Trouble is, when he was shooting 20% during the first month of the season everybody and their brother on here were saying that the law of averages would NOT come into play and he wouldn't get up higher than that.

Rafer proved those guys wrong. The thing to be pleased about is not his 3pt shooting, though it is a nice bonus right now. It's his finishing more of the layups and floaters, and even the closer 15-18 footers that you see most PGs hitting in the league. Thats why you dont worry as much about Rafer. So you might not get the 18ppg Rafer when his 3 pointers stop falling, but you still get the 12ppg Rafer which is still pretty good.
