I am sure that this statement has the Rockets team and management shaking in their shoes and poop running down there legs to hear that another fair weather fan is jumping off the band wagon!
The majority of the members this board are sane its just the insane ones that make up so many irrelevant post and needless un-thought out threads. Let me clarify I am not talking about DD before someone insinuates other wise.
LOL - thanks...I think. I just argue with the insane ones, and hope to educate them. So far, no luck.... Hilltopper thank you for posting this, for us out of towners, it helps us remain connected. DD
Was that educate or eradicate them? That will be an endless task. Lots of luck. Try to stay out of the pissing contest!
What we need is a committment from everyone, and people to start making shots like they normally do. DD
In BUDS first game back he looked like he moved a little more cautious like he was still thinking about his ankle. Figured that was effecting his shooting & also his defense which I hope will keep improving. When BUD get his shot back and Brook & Yao start playing again things should pick up. Hope by Christmas holidays?
I am 100% confident that AB and Bud will be back and healthy, and not so confident about Yao, or him fitting in. I think the organization may be holding him out longer until he can go 30 minutes a game to allow others to get some chemistry.....just a made up theory though. DD
It is going to take awhile for Yao and Brooks to get the rust off, longer for Yao. Sometimes I think Yao needs to play just a little in the first half and all the 4th period but then I remember that he looked awfully slow defending the net against some of the faster players. I think it is just from missing a year but he may never get back to 08 form. I kinda of hope they move more away from him and just let some one else develop into the center spot. Don't know if Hill has the true ability and drive to be a starting center. Miller has no idea what the word defense means. I want to see more blocked shots!
i agree he had some bad decision from time to time. But imagine you are the coach, you will try to send the best 5 at the last minutes. We see that the main problem is our young players' mentality. They are not focusing. they are not executing well. please notice this is not ONLY the coach problem. Just feel sick to see people blaming aimlessly when 3-9. Don't forget we are actually a better team than last year. All we can say is Rockets doesn't fight as hard as last year at the moment.. hope these few recent practices can set their mind and make a run.
This. Coaching is about charting a strategy, executing it, and making adjustments. If every coach went out and broadcasted the adjustments he's making, it makes it easier for the upcoming opposing teams to anticipate. That's why no coach ever says anything of use. This is not to say that RA isn't partly to blame for their performance--but the guy certainly knows more about basketball than any one on this board and more about the players on the team than anyone on this board too.
I think that, in addition to understanding of the strategy of the game, a great coach also needs to be a master of psychology, and many great coaches actually delegate the strategy and x-and-o's to their assistants. I'm not saying I expect Adelman to share his strategy insights with the media, but I do expect him to answer the questions about our underperformance with something that indicates he knows how to solve the problem. All he has done in every interview is say that there IS a problem. Great psychological coaches push buttons, not sit there and do nothing when the results are poor. All great coaches have demonstrated the ability to motivate their troops to play their best, from Phil Jackson to Vince Lombardi. Adelman is a good coach, as shown by his results, but his seeming lack of psychological mastery keeps him from being a great one, and that hurts the team's chances of winning.
I honestly think that the Rockets will eventually "click". They have a history of starting off the season with high expectations, then playing like underachievers... but then become overachievers once the season is over (i.e. Rockets 22 winning streak, or forcing Lakers to game 7).
Morning wood and this pic go together like ebony and ivory. In fact, the caption should ready, "I could really go for some ivory morning wood. Man, I'm so DL. Where's Magic?"
