He was fired against the wishes of the head of operations who wanted to keep Adelman.

He was fired because the Maloofs didn't like Adelman who shot straight from the hip and was a no-bull kinda guy. They said he couldn't coach D. But basically they were unhappy about losing after being so close just a few years earlier.

All coaches have this cycle. Including JVG, Phil Jackson, Larry Brown, etc. You can say it's personality conflict, but rarely it is. With good coaches, it's because they are truthful and owners can't always handle the truth.

That's why I can't see Adelman sort of trying to deliver coded messages - especially to a player. If he wanted T-mac gone, I think Adelman would just say that. That T-mac doesn't fit into my offense - he'd say that.

he wouldn't just say it's a process and that T-mac isn't ready. That's not his style to bend the truth that way.

He would say exactly that if it was protecting the bosses insurance payments.

He's not running off to the media, he's being interviewed after practice.

I think neither side is completely innocent here. Mcgrady has a reputation that precedes him but at the same time is it that bad that he's itching to get out there? I'm curious to see what he looks like. The rockets have been rather vague about his progress and while they have the right to not play him, I don't think they've been completely truthful.

tracy was highly animated here. if there was extra tension b/t him or anyone within the organization, he would have let it be known.

It's not about who is innocent. The relationship between sports personalities and media is a business thing. You've got questions to answer.

One example where the athlete (boxer) says nothing

i can't wait to see what happens with this whole ordeal. i'm curious to see what morey can or can't do with the contract. if we get crap, then let it expire, if we can pick up another couple of pieces, then pull the trigger. no knicks, but the timberwolves are intruiging. i like a few of their young players, flynn, jefferson, gomes... but i DO NOT want cardinal. no freakin way. he's worse than cook.

i believe him. i think if it was up solely to adelman, tracy would not play one bit. and there's definitely some personal issues b/t the two.

however, if tracy knew he wasn't going to play, he would have said some thing. i'm sure he would sense that he would not play at all this year. he may be dumb, but he ain't that stupid. plus, he definitely didn't hold back in that interview.

and i also listened to what elson turner said.

and from the recent quote from adelman, all i can gather is tracy WILL play soon.

you don't have to like each other to work with one another. i'm sure rick would have slapped von wafer silly numerous times last year if he could. but von contributed, so von played. if tracy does contribute, he'll play a ton as usual b/c he remains our best player.

PS - elson turner straight up said today that tmac will be back to the old tmac with just "a couple of real games." from that, you know tmac will play pretty soon.

Ahh I see. I haven't listened to the ET interview yet. Well, that is probably for the good, because his value as of now is as an expiring contract. Maybe he can make value as a player too, because it does not seem like DM has many options out there.

I hope he has something up his sleeve...

i'm sure there are teams lining up wanting to get tmac and his contract. but morey is waiting for better offers. the only way to do that is to let tracy play and let him play well.

a team like the knicks would LOVE tmac (ticket sales esp. as a holder for the free agency bonanza). but they're not going to give up any potential first round picks unless they know tmac is pretty good.

tmac's gonna play. and i think he'll play starting the road trip next week. he'll have at least 3-4 practices under his belt (with a back to back practice tomorrow). if he feels and practices great, i expect him to be back coming off the bench.

again, you can practice all you want. but you won't know where you truly are unless you play in a real game. practices can't simulate real games.

Tracy looks like he was going to cry... :( Maybe he should not have burned bridges with the coach and GM...about get the surgery earlier this year.

    Interesting take.

I can't see really bad teams giving up talented youth for Tracy the player, even If he is healthy. But maybe a team that would consider Tracy to be the "Final Piece" to a championship?

This team would also need a big contract to make it work...

Let's also assume that DM would target a young "high potential" asset, which I think is a reasonable assumption...(Unless we can get a Kevin Martin or something of the sort)

    Hmmm...

I'm going to go check out some rosters on NBA 2K10:)

I agree with you 100%, at best Tracy has 2 years as an avg to slightly above avg player...barring injuries.

A contender could probably sign T-Mac next year to elevate their play to the next level.

Maybe the Rockets should do that. :p

I honestly don't think the trade with New York is a good one if it pans out. I would much prefer an expiring T-Mac to an Eddie Curry.

That last part is a trip. They want an MRI and I've reiterated it's not going to reveal anything. Wow, so he admits he paid off a doctor to write him a sick note. This guy didn't even go through surgery, he's

Now he pays! Time to sabotage his contract season. Retire and play baseball my ass. Everyone knows you are all about the money.

Notice: TMac, Sura, and Barry quit after they huddled up in the locker room and confirmed the NBA was fixed.

Exactly. Being healthy and being ready are 2 different things. The first is decided by the doctor, the 2nd is decided by the coach.
