[ch 2 video] McGrady after Monday practice (11/23)

He said he thinks he's ready, they said he's not. Is he supposed to change his mind and think "Damn, I guess I'm not ready?" If he actually did that I would question his willingness to play. To me, him talking to Adelman about being reactivated is a good sign.

You make it sound like he trash-talked Adelman and Morey and called them idiots or something.

 

Thanks for posting. Of course the team would take a cautious approach, Mac said he was ready last year and we all know what happened. I'm as confused as ever by all of this

McGrady feels like he can play

The Doctors says he can play

So when would it be a good idea for him to play? What does he need to make it a good idea for him to play?

 

he said he could play but that the pain he had would bother him during the season. he made that clear before he played

 

T-mac is visible upset by the situation. He's upset that he can't play - he looked like he was about to break down.

It's great he wants to play, and that he's emotional about it. At least he's showing "heart".

I really don't know what else to add. I think we just have to see how things unfold.

 

He is frustrated and pissed but keep it in house.......no need to stir the pot by cussing and throwing his coach and GM under the bus. I'm the biggest T-Mac supporter but cmon Mac you gotta be smarter than that.

 

Do you notice the trend of him playing by his own rules, after countless opportunities between coach, GM and player to get the story straight? If everybody's story is the same (his isn't, the other 2 participants' are) and all of these (his) sideshow antics aren't being done, there wouldn't be all the hoop-la.

 

Artest has surely done worse things, and he played....

 

i hope people will finally get that this whole mri thing was totally pointless from the beginning.

mcgrady could play right now and he probably could have even participated in training camp and preseason. the rockets didn't want him to and so they lied to their fans to hide the fact that there are other reasons behind this total mess.

i know, t-mac is an easy target, but people need to understand that there's once again not only black and white. the rockets organisation is a big part of this mess as well.

 

What's so hard about saying "yea, this is the first team practice we've had in weeks; it was good to get out here and be with the team again and hopefully in a few more practicies I'll be back in uniform."

 

McGrady said the media is making a big deal out it. I'm sorry, but when he's running off to the media to publicly contradict Adelman and Morey... He's the one making the big deal out of it.

 

But he looks upset as hell.

The man has been attacked by everyone. I would drop F bombs after reading some of the **** on clutchfans that was wrote about him. The Chron guys are all "Female dogs". What do you expect. HE FRUSTRATED! he wont play for another 1-2 weeks guaranteed.

(thinking about it) I don't know why, I mean (LOL) it is no difference than any other practice I have been participating, the MRI is going to be irrelevent, and moving forward, I have said that it is not going to tell them whether I can play or not, just going by what my doctor told me, that did the surgery on it. So, I don't know why this was such a big date"

Tmac "Me personally, well I feel like I can play, but coach and GM obviously feel different (shrug) you know, they run this team and until they feel I am ready to play I guess I will be you know....(pause) watching."

Reporters "Is it hard on you now compared to where you were (sort of jumbled - lots of different people talking).

TMac " I mean it its...everybody is really making a problem out of it and you know, which is really F***** up because you know, when did becoming ready/ wanting to play basketball become a problem, you know a bad thing because I'm ready to play basketball so everybody is making a big deal (he is a little beside himself here) because I say I'm ready and the GM and my coach say I'm not ready but everybody want to make a big deal that you know, that I am this Diva and all this crazy S*** I am reading in the newspaper is crazy...you know....I'm ready, I feel, I'm ready to play basketball, their not, well, ok until they feel I'm ready then I won't play, I mean it's not that big of a deal.

Reporter "So it's not a problem for you?

TMac "It's not a problem at all, I just wanted to know when I was going to be activated. That's all, and my coach told me when he thought I was gonna be uh (stumbling a bit here) ready, you know he was gonna see how today was gonna be see how the MRI comes out, and again reiterate on that it is not really gonna reveal anything but that's just the way it is.

oh, and i wanted to add that by being able to play i'm not saying he would be in great shape. obviously he needs a couple of games under his belt to get in game shape. and that's the only way to get there because there aren't many full practices right now. and even a full practice is different than an nba game.

 

I only have one question about those who were at the practice:


Was he passing the ball?

 

I would much rather McGrady, or any player for that matter, tell us what he feels in his honest opinion rather than just reiterating something the coach or GM says. He is being honest and is saying how he feels.. what's wrong with that?

 

he's cussing at the media....not sure how he is throwing his coach and Gm under the bus in that interview. He even said they control this team and will play when they want him to play, but he says he is ready to play. He's not gonna say 'I am not ready' when he feel he is.
