if we had mike james last yr, we'd won the championship. why? b/c rafer wouldn't play 45 min a game. ppl keep saying PF but really, mike james would have helped a lot.
It's Naresh. Without a doubt. And Mike james is fearless. He loves to take the big shot. He has leadership qualities. I remember they showed the lockeroom before Game 7 vs. Dallas, and it was James and Mutombo doing all the talking. Imagine Mike James taking all those open shots Rafer took, and Scola cutting to the rim and finishing unlike Hayes. And TMac wouldn't have to be our whole offense since we have James. Morey's done a great job building this team already, something CD could never do. I'm worried about injuries and defense this year. Yao and TMac have been hurt a lot the last 3 years. The West is so dang competitive, if either gets hurt for a significant amount of time this year, we're toast. JVG is the only coach who can make a 2nd string team win 52 games in the West. Memphis, Seattle, Clippers, New Orleans, and Sacramento, along with Denver, are on our heels. Phoenix, SA, Dallas, Utah, Golden State, and Lakers are guaranteed playoff births. That leaves 2 spots open for those 7 teams. If we're 100% healthy, which I hope, then there is no reason why we shouldn't be the 3rd best team in the West record-wise. If we're not healthy, then we're looking at lottery again.
did you just say the lakers are guaranteed a playoff spot??? hahah you should have switched DENVER with the lakers in that paragraph bc they are in the upper echelon of the west with us, but not the lakers ...even with the greatest single player on the planet right now, the lakers are garbage... and you forgot to add portland to the list of teams surely to improve...
Where did Tracy even hinted he had a problem with Jeff? He specifically said, of adapting to Jeff Van Gundy's coaching: "I had no problem with it, I love the style he coached."
My bad on the Lakers. For some reason I have this image of them dominating the NBA. I can see why Kobe hates the organization now.
Of course T-Mac was exhausted in the 4th quarter of Game 7. The entire team was. You can't spot your opponent a 17-point lead on your home floor in the 1st half of Game 7, storm all the way back to take a 5-point lead early in the 4th and expect to have enough gas left in the tank to finish the job. Not against a good team like Utah. The Rockets ended up losing a shot at tying the game or taking the lead because they gave up 3 straight offensive rebounds and couldn't intentionally foul without wasting 10 seconds off the clock. This was all due to fatigue. The moral of the story is show up for Game 7 from the opening tip next time.
I used to work with an Indian Gentleman also called Naresh way back in mid 90s. Very nice guy who like band sound a lot.
I guess it is remotely possible but who knows? He was working for Tata (the I.T. outsourcing company) and being seconded to a British company in Hong Kong in 1995. We worked together for nearly a year then he went back to India. Anyways, welcome aboard and enjoy the forums here!
Don't think it's the same one. The one I know has a family that lives here in Houston, but he used to go every other month to Africa. I think he was in the oil industry. Then he worked in Kuwait. I think he still works there every other man. The forums are great. I love the hangout and D&D, with the election coming up and all that. Brandon and I were Red Rowdies this past season.
my point exactly....the truly great players don't get exhausted. or at least they fight through it and dig down deep and will themselves to victory. especially in the big games. no real diss against T-Mac, just a casual observation by a basketball fan.
Nice first post wakkoman. TMac should just play for the Astros right now. It'll keep him in shape in the offseason. We could use him as a pinch runner too.
Byron Scott Kareem James Worthy Cooper McAdoo Rambis A.C. Green and Magic was still exhausted! TMac just stated what a bunch of us could see on the court. Van Gundy had him doing entirely too many things and Van Gundy would not put players on the floor that could help McGrady more. Ridiculous, he was expected to rebound, defend, dribble the ball up, initiate, and finish. Magic was allowed to rest on defense and he was surrounded by scorers/finishers. Van GUndy simply ran the dude into the ground just like Van Gundy has done every team he has coached.
