Thanks for that. I've been wondering what Tmac has been doing all summer and what he thought of our moves.

LOL, I can't really picture a 6'8 guy like Tmac pitching in the majors.

From some of the comments in that interview I hope to god he is working on his stamina in the offseason...

How can you be exhausted in a game 7? Jordan or Bird or Magic ever get exhausted in game 7's? I don't freakin' think so, this is the kind of comments that lead me to believe that T-Mac is not the leader we hoped for....

I don't think he was trying to say it was "all" of tmacs fault that we lost, but when you are the superstar and go to guy of a team and you dissapear for the majority of the 4th quarter you do need to shoulder some of the blame.

come on... even kobe ran out of gas against the suns last year's playoffs and the suns don't screen you every play. I think that was part of it. The Jazz played really physical and wore t-mac out with the hard screens.

the same lebron james who had other players step up constantly in the east when he shrunk away in the spotlight outside of that one great game 5 in detroit? lebron had more guys step up on his team this year than tmac did...you could say tmac had yao but even yao didnt even well despite putting up decent numbers. and dont forget the cavs had the easiest BY FAR road to the ECF facing two injured teams in the nets and wizards and if richard jefferson had been 100% they may not have even gotten past the nets

i am trying not take anything anything away from lebron but i dont think he carried that team as much as tmac did

but Kobe had crap next to him...Tmac has Yao and a pretty decent supporting cast...it wasn't totally his fault that we lost, but he doesn't get a free pass, because he was tired.

    yeah that's it.............

The Pistons were just as good if not better than Utah. And Lebron has had to carry those stiffs for his entire career thus far. Tmac has Yao as his second option. Lebron has Larry Hughes and the 1,000 year old Big Z, lol. Plus Lebron has had other big playoff moments besides his historic game 5 against Detroit (he played great in the '06 playoffs and also had a couple of game winners)

Actually Lebron got alot of help. 31 pts from Gibson in a critical game. Outside of Yao and T-mac we never got any type of production from anyone close to that. I would go as far to say Utah is on the same level as Detroit possibly even better. Detroit are only good against West teams because they have all the defensive matchups worked out.

You're right. That was poorly worded. But when that was literally all he mentioned - there was nothing about Bonzi being in poor shape or Bonzi not fitting in with the team - just "him and coach had some differences". It seems a reasonable conclusion then that that was the main reason Bonzi never really got out on the court.

As to the stuff about being tired of Van Gundy, you're probably right there too. It just seemed to me he was excited about the new coach. If he really still wanted JVG around I doubt he'd be so excited about Adelman.

Realistically speaking though, Tmac's supporting cast > Lebron and Kobe's supporting cast....it isn't even close....Yao alone makes a huge difference.....I'm not trying to come off as a tmac hater, because I really love the guy and as a long time rocket fan I want to see him succeed in this city, but if we have Lebron, Wade (healthy), or Kobe there's no doubt in my mind that we get out of that 1st round last year.

um detroit is not a physical team by any means. i don't remember lebron getting pushed around at all when he penetrated. in fact, he got a free pass.

defensively in terms of pts allowed, pistons may have been better. but our team was not equipped to play a physical brand of basketball, including shane battier who got pounded and he is a pretty muscular dude.

tmac would have had an easier time w/ the pistons.

C'mon. He did the same thing in games 3 and 4 vs Dallas. Same story in Game 6 vs Utah. JVG gave him his breaks. How is he so exhausted? Tired in the 4th quarter of the biggest game of your career? Most guys run off adrenaline in situations like that, at least that's what Lebron said in the Double OT game 5 vs the Pistons, where he scored the last 31 points for Cleveland. Tracy has never been great with the media, at least his comments. Remember, after Game 1, he said nobody on the Jazz could guard him. He even took a shot at Kirilenko. It was Kirilenko who guarded him in the last 6 minutes of the 4th quarter. And don't tell me he missed so many free throws in Game 7 because he was "exhausted".

Yes, he might have not said it to anyone, however, we all saw did he didn't look fressh at the end of Game 7.

That's one thing Jeff couldn't get. Sure you want to go to your bread and butter, but those are still human beings. If you ride them 90-100% of the time, it just not gonna work.

He should have worked during the reg. season to establish another guy among Bonzi/Snyder/V-Span who could have given you 5-6 quality plays per game. Hopefully we'll have it this year...

Are y'all seriously, SERIOUSLY, comparing LeBron to McGrady in terms of stamina and strength? One could be a linebacker in the NFL and the other one has had back problems since God knows when.

Tracy say things that are bascially taboo in the NBA. From that comment where he was he was tired and isn't as good as he used to be because he came straight out of high school to admitting that he was exhausted, I'm pretty sure NBA players have came across this one time or another in their careers but the difference is that none of them ever admitted to it.

Heck, we ALL knew Hakeem had issues with the altitude in Denver (he had an oxygen tank for him) but Dream never really talked much about it.

We should have beaten the Jazz but they are by no means a sorry team. They could have easily taken out the Lakers and would have probably swept the Cavaliers as well (Utah probably can't stop Lebron, but who on Cleveland can stop Deron, Boozer, Harpring, and Okur?)

I confess, I didn't even recognize him at first when they showed the younger clip. I thought it was a new segment. What a change!

yeah coming out and using the excuse of I was tired just makes you look lame....and I hate to say it. When tmac says things like this it just makes me realize how bad we need Bonzi to step up to be that 3rd guy.

    Is that you Brandon?

You took the words right out of my mouth. If the Rockets had a backup point guard last year, like Mike James, and if you plug Wade, Lebron, or Kobe in for TMac, this team is an automatic championship team, with or without JVG. JVG and Adelman are both great coaches. What I'm still worried about is TMac's leadership and Yao and Tracy's health. Face it, the Rockets have not had a good supporting cast for quite some time. I doubt Mutombo, Howard, Head, Hayes, Snyder, Alston, do anything next year for whatever teams they play for. JVG got the most out of his players. It's amazing that they could win 52 games without the best center in the NBA and the first one and a half month's MVP. Jon Barry said after JVG was given the boot that JVG wanted a better roster, and he didn't quite get the guys whom he wanted LONG-TERM as head coach. It's no secret he didn't like the Spanoulis or Slowmile signings. He also begged the owner for 3 quality pg's. I don't consider JL3 or Billy "quality". The Rocket supporting cast was much better than the Cavs' this year. As for the Lakers during their championship days, they had a very strong cast. The Rockets this past year weren't even close to that. But now Tracy has his cast, we have an offensive coach, so there's no excuse for failing to make it past the first round AGAIN.
