he said that before specifically on C. Daves radio show. Saying he can give Battier a rest not have to guard Kobe the whole game.

man Artest is saying all the right things. Almost too perfect to be true haha. Man if he does what he says, I say sign him to a long term contract at whatever cost! Tracy will have to take a paycut.

    Special lineup for most-stop situations:

    Battier
    Artest
    Hayes
    Deke

4-on-5 would be sufficient with this group, but you could throw in Tmac or Rafer or Rick Adleman's monocle if the refs don't allow it.

That interview looked kind of awkward. He was just bombarded, when all he wanted to do was get out of the airport.

So does Ron really think that highly of Chuck, or is he just pumping him up to be a "good teammate"? This is 2nd or 3rd time I've heard him be very complimentary towards him.

Thanks Hilltopper. That was Ron-Ron bending over backwards to be polite.

BTW, has anyone mentioned to to him that wantting to be Yao's "servant" is probably the most alien concept Yao's ever heard?

Maybe Yao's due for a truly off-the-wall jolt, and it's hard to imagine a better one than this guy. Artest may have the only sense of humor that can rival Yao's (or a Barry boy) on the team. I pray Yao makes it to camp on time this year, because his historically steep learning curve just got downright freaky. Too cool.

Yao is the Chuck Norris of Houston. If Ron Ron says it, it must be true.

For the record, the interview was shot that way because Artest had some dental issues that had not been taken care of yet and didn't want that side of his face/teeth shot. He was being nice just to do the interview when he didn't have to. Everyone knows he's doing the big press conference Monday. He was only in town to get his physical and will fly back out tomorrow.

Yes, many of those question have been asked before and will probably get asked again Monday. But most have been asked by others, not the Houston media, in person.

Yup. Artest was like we're gonna do the real thing on the 25th on top of the things you listed above. He was definitely politely trying to say leave me the f*** alone. Then the dude makes some lame comment like "Don't worry, Ron. We won't make you look bad." I thought Ron was going to walk away at that point. Credit to Ron for gutting it out and being cool.
