Speaking of leaving anything out... PJ is also ONE AND FOUR in his last 5 playoff games... only he had 4 HOF players on the roster.

I don't like Phil's age. I'm surprised this isn't more of an issue with most people.

Yes, yes...I know Larry Brown is still coaching well. I know Hubie Brown had a good season last yera.

But there is a natural coaching curve. Coaches begin as understudies, peak usually in their late 30's through their early 50's, then begin to decline. Each good coach, unless he's just a complete copycat, has some new ideas. Those ideas eventually become outdated, as the rest of the NBA catches up and adjusts. And everyone declines in their old age, just as a matter of slowing down...mentally and physically.

There are always exceptions - but it's not a shock that coaches have a career-curve...just like everyone else.

    9/14 = 0.642
    0/9 = 0.000

    642/0 = infinity.

Show me the NBA records broke in '04? Nothing wrong with getting beat (unless a coach makes a habit of it), but getting beat by an unprecedendent amount, or being one of a handful of teams to lose a series after winning the first two on the opponents home floor...that is "special."

Rocket is crazy to ignore PJ but extend JVG's contract

This is a stupid move, JVG is a hard working coach but might not be a small coach.

PJ is a cunning guy, sometime even annoying, but he is the right coach for Rockets if we want some rings fast.

Maybe Les is short of money to hire PJ, so he tried to gamble on JVG, well, if that is the case, why don't Les just sell the team to Cuban? I am sure Cuban will be more than happy to leave Dallas to Houston.

JVG might get 1 ring for Houston after lose all his hairs, but PJ could easily win a few rings for Rockets based on the roster which contains YM and Tracy.

The team likes JVG, we have good chemistry

PJ just wants a team that is set to win a championship, he recognizes the Rockets have a very good chance and wants to step in

JVG can take us to the Finals and he can take us to win a championship

Do we perfer championship or good chemistry?

JVG's capaility to win a ring is a question mark, but PJ's ...

THis is what PJ would do as the Rockets coach...

He would make Yao read the Joy Luck Club, he'd make T-mac read the the Tao of Pooh and ask him to think about why he asked him to read it.

Then he'd bring the Rockets in huddle and tell them a bunch of big chief triangle stories which would really mean listen to Tex Winters and get Yao or T-Mac the ball.

He would try to date someone in the organization, make some commericials, and make appearances with Bill Maher.

If the Rockets win, he will claim credit. If they lose, he will call yao weak, and question T-mac's soul, and then quit and bail ship.

JVG may be a good coach due to 4 million he makes, PJ is a bad coach because he asks 10 million and wants more rings while he has 9 rings.

You cannot compare T-mac with Sura, coz Sura only makes 4 million and T-mac makes 15 million (roughly). That's already telling you all you need to know!!!!

I disagree, the reason why the lakers lost to the Detroit was because they didn't play as team. They got to the finals and became discombulated (Excuse my spelling). Kobe disrupted that team doing his own thing because he wanted MVP. You can't be in the same sentence with Michael Jordan if you never get MVP in the finals. Enough said.

Good for the Rockets? If you like collapsing and losing game sevens by unprecedented amounts.

Good for the league? David Stern and the Referees' union might disagree with that opinion.

if the Lakers don't play as a team, that's the coach's fault. If a team doesn't play together, that is up to the coach to figure out something. That's why he's there to make them into a team.

You got to get to a game seven before you can win a game seven. Championships come in steps. Progress is progress.

However, no championships have come after being beaten by forty in a game seven...
