Doc must have heard that LB and JVG are fighting for the job.

Doc's choice makes sense. Rocks would have to buy-out two years of his contract w/DCs probably. Doubt that scenario would happen with current coaches we have to chose from. Why waste his time and possibly alienate his team, owner, etc.?

He doesn't want to waste his time on an interview, since he knows CD and Les don't have him at the top of their list. The only thing he wants is Yao Ming for his Orlando Magic.

    On Yao Ming:
"He is going to be a great, great, great player in this league. He can do so many things. I’m jealous because Houston gets so many great centers. When are we going to get one?" -- MAGIC COACH DOC RIVERS

Joke all you want, but if Brown goes elsewhere, Rivers was probably the next best guy on the list.

seriously, why would he leave Orlando, his team is in the East, he has McGrady an out and out Superstar who is still getting better, who he gets along great with, a couple of nice rooks and if they can add a solid PF/C they will further improve and should go further in the playoffs next season, and then on top of that Hill might still come back.

Rivers is a vrey good coach imo and his team is on the rise.

I'd definately take Rivers over Balke. Unless he brings cuzin' Larry with him.

I think Keith Jones is doing a nice job. We don't need Doc

Rivers couldn't really respond any other way. Imagine how it would look to his team if he decided to go and interview a job that he probably wouldn't get. Meanwhile, the Magic playeres sees Doc as a coach that would rather coach another team and only stayed because they turned him down!?
