LOL, I was thinking the same thing.

Bottom line is that the Rockets have been playing better this season without McGrady.

I tell you what else would be ironic--if the Rockets went off on a tear now.

I'm actually somewhat relieved that he does have a real problem...it wasn't ALL mental. kills any trades for him but none the less the hope can still be there that tmac isnt as big a vag as people want to make him out as. Time for the COOKIE

Isn't Marbury in Europe right now?

Whatever, this is a major blow to all the fans.
Slap to the face, I feel disgusted, I feel really frustrated and tired.

But...in one hand I saw something like this coming. It must happen, those are the Houston Rockets, always injured.

I want Ron to step his game up, now that he is clear in his role. Ron can be our #2 option, and it would be like last season, except with Wafer, Brooks, and Barry on the team.

so a guy that doesn't show up to most of the games may not show up to any more of them? big deal.

without any type of consistency, this team wasn't going anywhere this year. next summer tmac will be one of the most desirable contracts in the league. we can reshape the team then.

We made the playoffs with just Tracy last year. We can make it with Yao + Artest this year.

Not really ironly considering we still went on a tear when Yao went down in the middle of the streak. Question is if this team can make any noise in the playoffs. It will be interesting to see. Hopefully Yao's body can hold up.

Some of you say the season is over, but I believe it's just getting started! Let's go Rockets!

He went back to train for TEN days. Perhaps he didn't train every single one of those days, but there's no way he goes through several workouts and never feels bad. He's trained enough during his career to know what feels right and what doesn't. i don't believe that the whole ten days he felt in perfect shape, if he did, then he didn't push it hard enough. Think about it. Jumping off the leg gives him trouble, but a heavy leg press doesn't?

And when shane says all the right things its not possibly costing the team the season. big difference.

Like clutch said, let the doctors explain this first, it could be a new injury that developed recently. Perhaps it happened shortly after his 10 days off, that would explain it all.

This makes no sense whatsoever - missing it on the scope, radiologists and 3 orthopaedists (including James Andrews) missing it on the previous MR images, even McGrady describing the knee as either not having lift or being a mental thing since January, no reports of swelling as far as I've seen...this is shocking if true.

If he's been playing with bone on bone....this doesn't just happen suddenly, and the symptoms would have been loud and clear. I'm suspicious, but no one would actually have microfracture surgery to duck out of a season. Should he have it, I would consider him done. I'm not saying that as a "hater" - the list of guys that have returned to form after this constitute Amare (his was an area the size of a dime, if memory serves) and Kidd (at 80%). Almost everyone else was washed up afterwards. And the recovery time is a minimum of a 10 months and generally along the lines of 18.

Assuming it is true, I still don't take back my anger over the Cleveland and Toronto games. It excuses his defense to a fair degree, but not his decisions on offense. But I'm not going to pile on a guy if he legitimately is hurt/hobbled.

I do have a lot more confidence in this team, as constructed, to play without McGrady than I did in last year's squad without Yao. Do not trade Artest, unless you're certain that Vince Carter can play great with Yao (as he's never played with a dominant center).

I'm not making any apology for him,but McGrady can only say what a doctor tells him about his diagnosis. He did say on quite a few occasions, that only I know that how much pain I'm in. He shouldn't have said I'm back, but professional athletes tend to overestimate themselves even after a short break.
He has always been soft even when healthy and this is probably the end for him.
