Typical Knee-Mac if he has to have microfracture surgery that could be the end of his career. I don't see this guy making the type of effort it's needed to rebound from that kind of surgery.

all I know is that if this is true, I am not spending thousands of dollars on season tickets next year...I am not a fairweather fan because I have stuck with them thru every losing season over the last 14 years but I have better things to use my money on than paying for these doctors, players, and drama....
this is just ridiculous...thats all I can say...
or maybe this is a ploy by Mcgrady..he will try to play thru it and then if they fail, he can blame the kneee...if they get past the 1st round, then he is a WARRIOR and he would never be called soft again!!!

Something is very fishy about this whole thing....these doctors are supposeldy the best in teh world...there is more to this story than they are letting out....
    stay tuned I guess

Rockets have been playing better without INJURED] Mcgrady. Just like missing Yao last season, You'd be kidding if you think Rockets can make a huge run in playoffs without a healthy Tmac.

I can guarantee you T-Mac will want to play the rest of the season just because he wants to get past the 1st round atleast then he may retire after the seasons over?

if He can play the rest of the season then why not just play...he isn't going to come back from microfracture surgery anyways ....he should just play this year, and then call it a career....after the season...

always happens to the stars. never skip or luther, not that I want them to get injured, but why does season ending always happen to the most important guys?

How long does it take to rehab from this type of surgery?

A year or more on average, depends on your body.

Many players have had it. It used to be a career-ender, or at least the beginning of the end of a career. However:

-the surgery has gotten better (see JKidd, who had a decent recovery)

-the younger you are the easier the recovery (see Amare, Oden)

-the knee will never be quite the same

There's a lot more info on microfracture surgery on the web. Knowing T-Mac's nature, I'm just not sure he is going to make it back from the surgery. It takes rehab and working through pain to get through it. Amare had a few hiccups during his comeback, but he's much younger and overall not as injury prone.

If TMAC does indeed need microfracture surgery, his current contract will expire before he's fully healthy again.

he's got alot of wear and tear on him. he's been in the league for a very long time with a history of injuries.
