McGrady Could Be Out For Season

HOUSTON -- Rockets guard Tracy McGrady could miss the remainder of the season, according to sources close to Local 2 sports. An MRI revealed missing cartilage in his left knee, which may require microfracture surgery to repair.

The possibility remains, however, that McGrady will try to finish the season. Dr. James Andrews, generally regarded as the premier orthopaedic surgeon in the country for this type of injury, will review the MRI before a final decision is made. Andrews advised those close to McGrady, that a microfracture surgery should only be used in a career saving situation.

McGrady and the Rockets will discuss options in a meeting at Toyota Center prior to tonight's game against Sacramento. At this point, the Rockets have no comment on the situation.

And why are they just finding this out now? They should have found these issues out before the season started.

If McGrady's out for the season do you try to move Artest? Or do you keep him?

Also, I wonder if T-Mac's going to be back next year or not. Or if there's going to be a press conference sometime soon to announce his retirement.

I expect an apology from all of you who criticized him for not rehabbing and lacking motivation.

Jumping the gun buddy...This wouldnt surprise me, Tmac has been nowhere near as good as he was last yaer, you dont just decline this badly in a season no matter how badly he been playing. Im praying its not as bad as this report says....

    WTF?

3 doctors all missed some missing cartlidge?

Let's see what the final verdict is.....and when they removed loose particles they should have seen an area of missing cartlidge.

Microfracture means his career is probably over......there is also another procedure where they can regrow cartlidge in a lab and transplant it into the knee....but it is fairly new.

I mean I have been hard on the guy, but would NEVER wish something like this on anyone.

Yeah, I think so too. There's a chance that in a locker room completely free of distractions he could be brought into line.

    Alston
    Artest
    Battier
    Scola
    Yao
