Yes, just ridiculous. Every other sport and all other divisions of ncaa football have far more than a 4 team playoff system. We even had numerous posters here on Clutchfans arguing that it shouldn’t be more than 4 teams. I’ve always said nothing is wrong with a 16 team format, but I’m fine with 12 teams.

It’s going to be really fun next season. Playoff games are fun!

We don't want an NFL style playoff (one of the most exciting, best formatted post seasons in all of sport... at least until they expanded it a couple years ago). But what we DO want is NFL style money and a league format.

It is the nightmare situation for the committee. Alabama wins. Texas looks great and Florida State looks terrible in a win.

I think Alabama gets left out, which is painful.

Always thought it should be 6 teams with P5 conference champs + highest ranked non-conference champ. SEC or BIG could get 2 teams in or G5 an outside shot of getting in.

Herbstreit (who has been going OFF on Florida State this morning) mentioned that the average spread in the semifinal games is over 19 points simply because they don't put the 4 best teams in

Looking forward to the 12-team format starting next year. 8 would be better, but whatever, not gonna complain too much about extra games that matter.

Get ready for more chaos if FSU mollywhoops Georgia in the Orangebowl and the winner of the CFP is a one loss team. AP might put FSU number #1 just to spite them.

I feel really bad for FSU but that semifinal looks like it's gonna be hella fun.

I'd be livid especially since the committee set the precedent with Cardale Jones. Why even bother playing the games?

I hope they come out like UT did against Georgia a few years ago and just kick the **** out of whoever they play.

I don't really understand takes like this given how florida st played last night. Did that look like a playoff team? Do you think Louisville is that good?

iir they mollywhooped Wisconsin by dropping 50+ on them in B10 championship. FSU did not do anything similar to Louisville.

I was just looking at the final AP rankings, 12 of the top 13 teams will be in the SEC and Big 10 next season.

FSU is playing in what will be a mid major conference, they just got started a year early...still f**ked up though.

Alabama should have been out. Plain and simple. Travesty.

Sucks for FSU, Alabama should have been left out. Happy for Texas, though!
