They don't even win the B10 West most years. It's crazy that no one has pressured the coach to get a new OC. With that defense, that team could be amazing some years with even a half-competent offense.
If Florida State loses, they're out. They're just not the same team as they were all year. Alabama beating Georgia makes things really interesting.
If Seminoles win it should be: 1 Mich 2 Wash 3 FSU 4 Horns If Seminoles lose: 1 Mich 2 Wash 3 Horns 4 Bama
Gotta win your conference, especially in a year like this where all of the conference champs are either undefeated or have one loss.
If FSU winning keeps Alabama out, I'm all for it (despite my instincts of wanting Louisville to beat them).
I’m the biggest Georgia homer around but come on this Florida State team sucks ass. If they make it over Alabama - I don’t care if they are undefeated, they will get absolutely destroyed by Michigan. The 4 best teams are Michigan, Georgia, Alabama, and Texas. Too bad we won’t get to see those 4 teams…
I more or less agree with you, but I think "earning it" is less subjective than "who is the best right now," even though both are subjective. And on the "earning it" scale, FSU is in.
Can't see FSU in the final four; they would be blown out by any of the teams in the current top ten. We know that Michigan and Washington are locks. Texas who beat Alabama should be in. Who is the fourth team? Can't be Georgia, Tide just beat them.
It's a shame it took so long to expand the playoff to more than 4 teams. I lost track of how many times NCAA spokespeople said, "We don't want an NFL-style playoff".
I don’t doubt that the committee will put Florida State in and of course Washington will be in too. What will happen will be 2 blowout semifinal games in Michigan against Florida State and Texas against Washington - hopefully Texas will beat Michigan in the final and that at least will be a decent and competitive game.
Michigan Washington Florida State ... Texas? Alabama? Ohio State? Georgia? How it should be: UM UW UT UA ... FSU Others
Somebody is getting screwed out of a deserved shot at a natty. The playoff always should have been 8 teams.
The committee will not go with the 4 best because that would mean leaving out 2 undefeated Power 5 conference champions in Florida State and Washington. The best 4 teams are Michigan, Georgia, Texas, and Alabama. But instead we’re going to be subjected to hearing how FSU and Washington “belonged” and that they will prove all the naysayers wrong. I just hope that the committee doesn’t have Michigan play Texas in a semifinal game as that should really be the championship game.
I think they're going to shock us all and leave out the SEC entirely. 1) Michigan 2) Washington 3) FSU 4) Texas
I think it'll be: Michigan Washington Texas Florida State Alabama Putting FSU acknowledges at 4 acknowledges their undefeated season and the reality that, as presently constructed, they're the weakest of the four teams.
