Didn't realize Jent made his pick, since he didn't post. Jent picked Ogunleye. I picked Julian Peterson.
Now that starters are nearly pretty much set, how does everyone feel about their draft at this point? I think I've done pretty well so far. (I know, Rook, I completely blew it, right? ). The only part I don't feel confident about right now was how I handled the round 9/10 turn. I was hoping for 2 of Kirk Morrison, Vernon Davis and Julius Peppers, but was really taken aback when DD took Davis and then NWO took Heap -- who the heck drafts backup TEs anyway? I guess you really can't predict these things. So, due to that, I felt at the time that I had to reach for Owen Daniels, who I don't really know much about but was the last player I had left in that TE tier. Any Texans fans here know if this Owen Daniels kid is any good or what? In retrospect, I would have definitely handled those picks differently. Then, I was hoping Peppers would make it back to me in round 11, but PSJ made sure that didn't happen. Oh well -- hopefully Trent Cole will be decent enough. So, if I could go back, I would definitely change how I handled that spot in the draft. Other than that, I like how it has turned out for me. I also think that Sam and PSJ have super strong teams, and I like what jent, moe and nwo have put together. Rook can be dangerous too, although a lot depends on Ronnie Brown for him. What are everybody's thoughts so far? (aside from that my team sucks )
I think my team is ok. Could of done better.... Had to pick up a backup TE because Gates will be out Week 9 and I need someone for that week. He was out majority of last season, but he's Baltimore's #2 target (I would say #1) behind Mason. Owen Daniels is pretty good. But now that Andre is back, he might be limited on catches. But I think he might be a good end zone threat for the Texans.
Longdong took James Harrison (LB) The Greek took Ben Watson (TE) and Thomas Howard (LB) Longdong is back up.
I decided to switch things up this year and go QB as long as I wasn't in the top 4. One thing I've learned in this league is you need solid players all around, quantity certainly trumps quality. I really would have liked to pair up Peyton and Wayne, but Sammy made sure to **** that up for me. Fitzgerald is fine though, he's very consistent. I was also surprised that Colston came back to me. He's a legit stud. My decision to stock up the passing game was calculated and I consider myself decent enough with what I ended up with. Thomas Jones should have a much better year than last year with Favre on board. I was happy to snag Ricky Williams after the news broke that Ronnie Brown was in trouble and Ricky would probably be the starter Week 1. Earnest Graham was basically a forced hand type pick, there was really nobody else left, as I was hoping Michael Turner would somehow make it back to me, but that did not happen. I was also glad to grab Zach Miller after the TEs went dry. Knowing that he would be there after everyone else picked got me an extra WR. I fully expect him to have a great season with the chemistry he's developed with Jamarcus, and the fact that the Raider WR's are not even close to being an above average unit. Defense of course is Defense, I never paid a lot of attention to it beforehand, but this time I did my homework and hopefully can get some contribution on the other side of the ball.
As usual with fantasy football leagues, I have vitrually no idea what I'm doing. Just hoping to get lucky. I kick ass in baseball and basketball leagues. Football, not so much. If I chose a player on your favorite team, EXPECT them to get injured. It happens every year. I can say though, that I'm he only one who woke up at 3am to make a pick. Now that's dedication. Or r****dation.
nWo, check your email. I need the sign up info. for league 1 drafting next Thursday evening. I'll try to get my brother back in as well.
It could be worse. At least you didn't pass up sex to make a pick like I did in this draft last year.
