I have a question/concern about the new waiver process. I understand and agree with its general purpose to give everyone a fair shot at the hot new waiver pickups each week... and I'm okay with that... but is there any leeway with regard to game day injury replacements? Say for instance that I have a kicker who is scheduled to play in a later evening Sunday game, and he pulls a muscle 1 hour before game time during warm ups and can't play. Ordinarily, I would go to the waiver wire and drop him to pick up a replacement kicker scheduled for later in the day (or Monday). It should be no problem because his game hasn't started yet... But, if all free agents pickups are locked because of the new waiver rules, I would not be able to do this and would essentially be screwed unless I carried a backup kicker on the roster. I guess there's no way around it, and we have to make a bigger effort to carry backup players at all positions?
Fade, Good points, not sure how to do that with the site we used, very limited as far as waiver wire process goes, basically allows us to set two waiver times and that is it. However, you really could of used a better example, a kicker - what kicker goes down right before the game - do they break a toe nail heading on to the field before the game. (I mean I've heard of RB's, WR's and real football players be game time decisions, but KICKER!!!!) In all seriousness, if you can think of a way it can work as you know the website better than anyone, let me know.
