https://www.facebook.com/matt.brock.965/videos/1329374053743316/ Debate between me and some friends on who's at fault. A guy is turning in a hov? lane, but a guy on the motorcycle tries to go around him and runs into him.
Regardless of who's at fault, it looks like the car has his blinker on with plenty of time for the biker to react... maybe the biker wasn't paying attention?
The accident is the bikers fault. He had no business trying to pass and he wasn't paying attention. The car's right turn signal was on and he wasn't even to the yellow line at impact. Some guys that ride act like privileged jerks on the road.
Seems like a case of two morons. That being said, the complete lack of situational awareness by that car driver is SCARY. He's going to actually kill someone someday. I can't wait for driverless vehicles.
Car gets a ticket for exiting an HOV lane at a solid yellow line. Car has to wait for the proper dashed white exit lines. Biker caused the accident for passing when it wasn't allowed.
Pretty funny if you read the comments in the 'shares'... bunch of bikers getting on the car because it's a Prius.
This. I like to say that people do moron things on the road, and/or aren't paying attention, all the damn time. And because enough people are paying attention, they most often save the morons from themselves. All you need is two people doing moron things at once, and you get this video.
And this kids, is why lane splitting is a bad idea. Even if it's legal in California. Biker should have avoided this. Signal was on well in advance and no sudden move by the car.
Biker should of been paying attention to the guy signaling. Both are really at fault because that car shouldn't have merged on a yellow line. IF the biker saw the signal, he should've passed on the left side of the care and nothing would've happened.
