I thought the HP/Microsoft tablet running the Kindle app was intriguing... and too brief. Of course, it's probably just a prototype or something.
I got f'd up with tinman and Kwame last night. Ended up falling into some shrubs on the strip and throwing up after the game. Stumbled back to the Bellagio sometime around midnight. My first CES, and saw lots of great stuff: - LCD: 6.9mm 50" LCD tv from LG - Smartbooks: tablet netbooks from Acer coming in March - 3D TV! tried the demos from Samsung and Sharp -> watched Up in 3D and it was incredible, but would give me a headache after awhile - Integrated TV's - Haier had TV's with integrated PC, Wii, etc. - Automotive - loved the Microsoft-Ford demos; several cars including a De-Walt tricked out F250 with the in-dash Windows infotainment; Chevy Volt was in the North hall, and they've got it set up so you can check your battery life via smartphone. not bad - Mobile TV's: everyone wants to take their TV on the go. NVIDIA had a good demo, as did the folks at Qualcomm with phones - "Companion Devices" - slates/tablets, MIDs, ebooks, etc. -> lots of new devices out there enabling an internet experience on the go. Intel and Marvell did a good job on that - 152" LCD tv from Panasonic -> that thing was sick!
I want a fold up 40" or better OLED...that you can store in an architectual tube and roll out at any location of your choice. COME ON man...get it done !! DD
The HP Envy 15 is on sale for something like $1000-$1100 with this coupon, if you're interested : NBTW34871 I got that deal off of gotapex.com. I'm still looking for a good I5 or I7 laptop. The only thing I don't like about I7's is the battery life.
donno if anyone posted this one.. Samsung 9000 series 3d LED tv.. 1/3 inch thick (width of a pencil) <object width="560" height="340"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/U5qiQwNl2nk&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/U5qiQwNl2nk&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="560" height="340"></embed></object>
what'd you think of the Aria? beautiful space, but still rough around the edges- dinner at jean Georges Steakhouse was not so great. went to the lenovo party at aquaknox last night- you should check out the Skylight, which is pretty sweet. dinner at david Burke was great, and then a party at The Bank in Bellagio- hot women, but music was ridiculously loud.
Yes sir, I have a Palm Pre and BB curve for my gal, all I pay is $122 a month. That is the 1500 min plan, unlimited texting and only get charge once for a data plan for both smart phones. Also $14 of insurance a month for both phone is included. Love Sprint customer service and coverage. I know Verizon has the best 3G coverage but a bit pricy. Tried Tmobile before Sprint and dealt with constant drop calls .
I'll give them a break cause the place is not even a month old, the service/staff were a little confused. however, the place itself is amazing, the casino was rocking the whole time. tons of hotties. oh basso, we went American Fish by Michael Mina, the food was simply amazing, best seafood dish I've had so far. you should stay there next time. the rooms at aria let you control everything by remote control. also all the channels were in HD!!! also there's a little a/v connection area where you can plug in your pc, hdmi device or ipod into the system itself. it's pimp!
Samsung put on a good show as usual, but I personally was wowed by LG. They showed up wireless 3d hd led tvs. everything they had was slick.
I don't understand the obsession with making TV's super thin.... Wall mounted, who cares, on a stand that's wider than the screen.... who cares? What am I missing?

Thanks, I actually saw that on Slickdeals.net when I got home yesterday and ordered it as soon as I saw it ($1170 shipped with an i5, 1080p anti-glare screen, 4gb ddr3, and the 1 gb ati 5830). Thank you for the heads up though.
That's my team! It's amazing to see the progress from Mini 1000 to Mini 110 to Mini 210. As mentioned before, a good deal of the people responsible for HP's notebooks and netbooks are right here in Houston. Again, also my team. (I ain't saying nothing, though...)
Those Samsung slim TVs were SICK. I also got the feeling these e-book readers are going to be crushed by the "Apple tablet." the Que was a disappointment in my opinion...would have been a great device 5 years ago.
I don't suppose any of you were kind enough to sneak over to the AVN Awards.....was kind of hoping for a thread about that....
Went by but wasn't going to pay the $80 walkup admission. Though I was impressed with a display about Pino Visual (high quality streaming mobile p*rn; hooray!). I did run into Jerome Williamson and Larry Flint in separate elevators at the Venetian. That was kind of neat.
