Thats not because they aren't affective but because they are so rare. So no they are not a thing of the past but very relevant if you are lucky enough to grab a good one.

The Mavs aren't worried about us this year. And as for tanking, if we were going to do it, we would have done it last year. We won't be tanking. Sending Martin for Haywood, OTOH, would be for cap purposes, or something like that, but it wouldn't be tanking.
Develop Jordan Hill, make him start the whole season bcuz we have noting to lose and monitor his progress and go on from their bcuz we simply can't go after anyone until the we find out about the CBA.

TOR is already trying to rebuild, so them trading Barngani is not going to be something that they are interested in. Plus he's just a 4 and I think he is only a "second or third fidle". Not really the goto guy I think we could use, and not worth Brooks IMHO.
