Considering Dwight now has no backup , here's a list of available options Aldrich, Cole Andersen, Chris Bynum, Andrew Collins, Jason Davis, Glen C Frye, Channing Gasol, Pau C Gortat, Marcin Gray, Aaron C Hawes, Spencer Hollins, Ryan James, Bernard Kaman, Chris Mohammed, Nazr Monroe, Greg Mullens, Byron Oden, Greg Okafor, Emeka Randolph, Zach Seraphin, Kevin Smith, Jason Stoudemire, Amar'e Udoh, Ekpe C Who should houston try to get?
Okafor Birdman Jermaine O'Neal Those other dudes either aren't good or will cost too much. Just need somebody to protect the rim, rebound and not trip over himself on offense for 12-15 minutes a night. No need to spend the MLE on that.
Randolph isn't available... he signed a 2 year $20M extension with Memphis a few days ago. I think Gortat/Hawes/Gasol are clearly the best on that list, but I would take a chance on Okafor or Mohammad at the minimum. I would like Hawes as a stretch 4/backup C. He would be a perfect fit for the team.
From Codman's posts it sounds like Jason Collins is our guy. I'd personally love Seraphin, he'd be a perfect guy off the bench.
Okafor is still solid; he's a Bellaire high school product; the Rockets are championship contenders. Lock that man down.
If we can't buy me Love, I'd be interested in Anderson, Frye, or Hawes. Maybe Bosh, though I bet he stays in Miami or returns to Toronto. All this madness settles down after 7/10, right? At least for a while...
Do we even know if Okafor is healthy? And there are rumors saying the Heat will go after Gortat...fwiw They should try to go after Hollins, if he's really cheap, then bulk him up a bit and have Dream give him some classes. He's got a good foundation, but needs help.
