They are probably thinking that Bradley will be too expensive to resign and will also need a back up PF to soak up Amir and Kelly's minutes, so I guess they got as much as value as they could without taking on extra salary. Probably will move Jae Crowder to the four spot. Let's face it, not many teams have traditional PFs anyways.

    Awful deal for the Celtics.

Dropping Avery Bradley & Kelly Olynyk for Gordon Hayward is supposed to make them significantly better?

Makes sense. Never understood why they would want to dump Crowder. Best contract in the league right now. Very versatile defensive player and a plus offensive player.

Bradley is a better player. I don't get the love for KCP.

The Pistons are better for letting him go and bringing on Bradley.

He definitely adds a lot more to the Celtics. It's Avery Bradley + Kelly Olynyk for Gordon Hayward + Marcus Morris. Sounds like a damn good deal to me. As good as Avery is, he will never be more than just an ultimate role player. Although Gordon is not a superstar, he is definitely just a tier below in the star level. Overall good moves for the Celtics. Plus they keep Crowder. A lot of good match up possibilities.

I don't get the sarcasm bro. I get it, you don't think Gordon is a star. Neither Bradley or Kelly are stars either. They are maxed out as constructed right now (can't expect the rookies and sophomores to contribute right away), so not sure what's wrong with these moves. No one is challenging them in the East besides Cleveland. Washington hasn't gotten any better.

    Gross. No thanks.

Tom Haberstroh: I don't know what the Pistons think they are? Where do they go with Drummond? I put him as one of the pieces Boston or Houston can go after if they wanted a "star". I don't know where SVG falls on Drummond. He hasn't figured out the FT stuff. He was awful, almost unplayable because he was so bad at the charity stripe. Have they soured on him? That's another domino that could fall.

Haven't exactly watched Drummond's game, but how does it compare to DeAndre Jordan's game? Drummond's FT% is significantly worse (which is saying something, since you're comparing him to Jordan), but their stats seem pretty similar.

Jordan will probably regress with no CP3, but I'm sure teams would love a Drummond as a starting 5.

It really helped Marcus in boosting his value by looking like his brother.

Pay attention people. This is why we needed to trade paul for all those players to match salaries. We got him 10 mil cheaper and didnt have to cut as much. We would have had to find a way to get rid of all those contracts to fit under the cap with chris paul just like the celtics tryin to squeeze hayword in. We would have had to do what the celtics are doing. Giving away a player and picks to dump on a team and get no money bavck to clear space to sign paul. Since we would be wanting no money back we would have had to give up other assets just for teams to take them. You have to have 34 million in cap space to sign him as a FA.

Should have dumped Smart for a couple of 2nd's.

Yeah I understand Bradley is expiring and will ask for a lot of cash, but the Celtics just got Hayward and are trying to compete, dumping their arguably 3rd best player is stupid, especially considering how great a fit Bradley was for them, great shooter, great defender, young, high IQ.

Instead they traded their above average starting SG for a average backup SF.

    Hayward / Crowder / Morris / Tatum / Brown / Ojeleye

    That SF depth is KING...
