Boston has another year to win a championship and they could easily do it with the starting team they have now. All they need is a few backups that can come in and play D. They would be foolish to break up the Big 3 + Rondo and Perkins now. They have one maybe two more championship runs in them.

what part of 'the suns don't plan on re-signing amare' are people here not understanding? he's gone - they aren't looking for equal return - they want the best cheap young talent that they can possibly get while unloading their financial burdens. that ray allen is washed up is completely irrelevant.

considering that portland apparently balked at sending them lamarcus aldridge, you would be hard pressed to find better cheap young talent than a 23 year old rajon rondo locked in at $3million/yr. ray allen is just an expiring contract to make the deal work who also could possibly have value to a contender if they chose to flip him later for more cheap young talent (though i would assume they would prefer the cap relief).

they can then flip nash and richardson for something like mcgrady, brooks, and landry or some similarly assembled package.

it is tough envisioning them getting a better player than rajon rondo for amare given the concerns surrounding the latter's eye injury.

Rondo was the best pg in the playoffs by far. I can see a lot of teams making huge deals this summer. I can see shaq in clevelan for some reason.

They clearly also said "build around Nash with a two year extension".

Unless there are other shoes dropping, I don't see Phoenix or Boston making that trade.

His shooting % also went down a lot as teams were daring him to shoot. If Amare is set on leaving I would do the trade, but otherwise I would keep Amare. He is the better player IMO.

why would the suns want ray allen, stoudamire has more value and a better player plus they have jason richardson already.

i just don't see this trade going through.

Well, acquiring Rajon Rondo might have something to do with it. I think it's safe to say he's the key piece in the package Phoenix would be receiving in this scenario and that Ray Allen is either a throw-in to match salaries, of secondary concern or both.

This trade tells us many things if it goes down:

    1. Rondo's stock is at a high, and Boston is selling while they can.
    2. Phoenix is REALLY going bankrupt and they need as much financial relief as they can get.
    3. Steve Nash and Shaq are also very likely to get traded since these are the 3 players they really can't afford to pay.
    4. Kevin Garnett might not ever get 100% healthy again

i dont know if any of you knew this but... im a celtics fan. if i were danny ainge, id stay pat except the bench. i feel robbed that we have to watch orlando lose easily to LA when we could have had a rematch of last year.

the lakers make me want to vomit out my food when i eat to stay thin.

the cavs sure got a lot of pub considering how overrated us rockets fans knew they were.

    It's odd, in he least.

Firstly, Sha-Q will add headlines at the Q as LeBron's new sidekick.

Secondly, when Shane (and Cook) go to the desert for Nash Suns will need a point.

This deal shows that the Celtics might be worried with the health of Kevin Garnett. They would be giving up their best point guard and one of their best clutch and perimeter players for a player who plays the same role as KG. Barbosa would be great but would be like a filler only.
