Shams: Rockets reportedly turned down Spurs offer of Wembanyama and a FRP for Jaesean Tate last summer citing Wemby as an "unknown commodity" unlike Tate who they viewed as less of a gamble
Don't they already have a luxury tax bill (expected when you pay Jaylen Brown $60,000,000 per season....)?
Tate+Holiday+? for Pritchard+Kornet The idea here is this: Jrue learned from Giannis. " I re-sign in the summer, but you need to bring my brother here…"
Love JaeSean’s heart and versatility, but it’s long past time to trade him. Dillon, Tari and Cam need to be consuming all the minutes.
Asset desired would be their 2024 FRP. Boston has salary flotsom. Trade exception is just shy of Tate. It would need to be 3 of their $2M or so 1-year deals.
If I was Boston, I'd want Holiday more than Tate. Holiday and/or Tate +SRP to Boston for 2024 FRP has been an idea I've liked for a while.
They want Tate, but they think they can get him on the super cheap. What disposable assets do those teams have left, and actually willing to part with. Doubt Sun's is dealing Eric. And guys like Pitchard or Kornet, are probably not on the table. Tate's contract is also easily aggregate-able, so they may be offering a less desirable contract so those teams can later use Tate's contract in something else. On the playing time thing, it's fine right now, Ime alredy not opt for Tate in certain games, that's not a reason to do the deal. Tate can be moved, but Stone should talk to other teams. I just don't see things that Suns / Celtics have good things they're willing part with. For example if C's kept one of Brogdan or Rob Williams, yea sure, but they moved lot of the guys that were movable already.
Grayson Allen has been a big part of their rotation. Are folks thinking those are the players they'll offer for Tate? Why don't we ask for Derrick White while we're at it.
The fact that top teams want him is a signal he’s being underrated here dude is an impact player and should be getting more minutes
