http://espn.go.com/boston/nba/story...roit-pistons-trade-improve-roster-flexibility The Boston Celtics traded center Joel Anthony to the Detroit Pistons for guard Will Bynum on Friday. Kevin Pelton hands out grades for the Celtics-Pistons trade. Story The Celtics made the move with roster flexibility in mind. They have 16 fully guaranteed contracts on their books and must trim that to 15 before the start of the regular season. Swapping Anthony, who is set to make $3.8 million this season, for Bynum, who will earn $2.9 million, saves the team $900,000. It's not clear if Bynum will stick with the Celtics. It could hinge on whether the team makes any additional moves before the season tips later this month. Anthony, 32, had played sparingly, including this preseason, since being acquired from the Miami Heat in January. If the Celtics ultimately elect to waive Bynum, the $900,000 savings from the trade would give them additional flexibility with the goal of staying under the tax line this season. ------- beat J.R. to it..... bam.
poor title bynum = andrew bynum anthony = carmelo anthony will bynum = will bynum joel anthony = joel anthony
Lol, if only WE could do the same! I would trade Johnson to Orlando for Curry. Of course that would be Joe Johnson for Stephen Curry not Nick Johnson for Seth Curry.

I see no time stamp. And yes, I know I posted this a short 8 hours after it occurred and was reported to the media. Speed like that kills. It's like you have no idea how to deal with it other than to post non-time stamped material on this blazing fast thread creation. Bam again. Winning!
Turn in your basketball fan card! How did you not know that when talking about a Bynum and the Pistons and an Anthony and the Celtics that I could mean anything else? Carmelo Anthony is under contract with the Knicks and Andrew Bynum cannot be traded as he does not have a contract with an NBA team.
never really watched wil bynum play...can he be a good back up pg? would he be better than ish smith? the numbers look better though...
Bynum has a usage rate on par with the NBA's superstars. That isn't a good thing in a backup/third string point guard who can't shoot from outside. He has some truly amazing games, but he's more apt to ruin your chances of winning than he is to help.
Joel Anthony would have been a solid addition to this team. We have no size when Dwight comes out. Dmo needs to start playing like a 7 footer.
