It was my understanding that LTE and Wimax were the only "official" 4g networks, and various carriers use HSPA+ and call it 4g. I have a free phone, but I only get edge. I know b****ing about free stuff is awful. but.... friggin edge. My 28.8 modem from 1996 was faster when you account for all the timeouts and dropped connections.
I agree. Latency is terrible when using VoIP apps over cellular network. Groove IP works well over LTE though
I have the free version, so I can only do it over Wi-Fi (still not as good as standard calls, as there is echo sometimes, but works well enough). Since I don't like talking on the phone, I can probably survive without more than 100 minutes when combined with Groove IP on Wi-Fi.
