so i am going out of the country for about 5 weeks. going to take my phone with me for video games and things like that. but obviously i don't want to get charged extra. so i am going to keep the mobile network signal off so i can't do any data roaming. not going to send any text (don't think i get charged if someone send me a text). the only thing i am not sure of is the actual phone call. so as long as i don't pick up the call, i don't get charged extra if if someone call me me right? or is there a way to turn the cell phone signal off? would air plane mode do the trick? thanks.
Keep it in airplane mode. Many year's ago, I spent a summer in Montreal. I wouldn't answer my calls and would call people back with phone cards. My phone bill ended up in the $300s because the call going in would cost $ and the forwarding missed call to voice mail would cost $. I was super pissed.
Yes, airplane mode. It will turn off the signal. You won't be able to send or receive any calls or texts or connect to the internet.
