    To be on the safe side since cingular uses the 850 band in some parts of the nation, it would be preffered
    Now if you have t-mobile, or ever think about switching, any unlocked phone would work fine.

    Cingular: GSM 850 / GSM 900 / GSM 1800 / GSM 1900
    T-mobile GSM 900 / GSM 1800 / GSM 1900

    So if I bought an unlocked phone that was made for T-Mobile service, it wouldn't necessarily work on Cingular's service?

    It would work most of the time but just not in the areas where the 850 band is used.

    Right now I am leaning toward the Motorola RAZR or SLVR but I am confused on a few things. I have heard that some are restricted with iTunes, meaning you can't upload songs you already have and such things. Which of these versions are NOT restricted in this way?
