It looks like we are including people that we were just in close proximity with instead of people that we actually talked to so the list could go on and on.

Ill just stick to people I got to at least exchange pleasantries with(hi, how are ya etc)

    Geddy Lee
Snake and Sebastian from Skid Row
Hetfield and Newstead from Metallica - actually had a beer with em after a show at the Summit
    Dimebag
    Zac Wylde
    The guys from Tesla
    Hank Williams Jr
    Suzy Boggus
Clint Black and his wife (Lisa Hartman?)
Vivian Campbell (after he joined Def Leppard)
and on that note...got yelled at over the intercom by Rick Savage(the bassist from DL) he is a real dick when it comes to spotlight mistakes.
    Glen Danzig
    Rob Zombie
    Phil Collins
Lemmy (was just drinking and checking out a random show at Backstage)

and a very long time ago, I met Mickey Gilley and Johnny Lee at Gilleys.

there have been a few others from bands I dont know...like some of the random punk/techno bands that we used to work at #s

Getting to hangout backstage during shows you are working does wonders as far as being able to say "howsit going" to lots of famous musicians.

now, if you asked me how many of them I got to say more than just hi to, the number drops drastically(probably down to about 10)

but still.....that wasnt the question. :p

When I was 10 years old I saw Ernest Givens buying a coffee maker at the old target at main and ost

I went Miami during the MTV awards. At the Delano I saw Paris Hilton and Jadakiss (my man is pretty rotund). Later that day I saw Jagged Edge on Collins. Would not have know it was them if they did not get out of a rimmed up Escalade and had big JE rice and chains on.

I met him in Clear Lake when he was playing with the Spurs. He used to park his boat and hang out at the Clear Lake Club. One night my buddy and I are going home from that area and right across from NASA we see this chick with short shorts bent over the back of a car that’s parked at the stop n go. We decided it was time to get gas and a drink. We pull up and she stands up like she was caught doing something and looks at us. I see she’s with two guys so I just decide to go in and pay. When I walk in I glance over and the black guy has several tattoos and has a nose ring- not very common in the early 90’s. About 30 seconds later it clicks that it’s Dennis Rodman. I ask the cashier ‘is that Dennis Rodman?’ And he goes ‘yeah that’s Dennis’ like they’re old buddies.

So I walk out and say what’s up Dennis and get a fist bump. Guy he’s with is this scuzzy looking white bro, the type who shows up when the hard drugs come out. The girl was pretty cute and I think she was going down on Rodman or at least had her hands in his pants.

I get back in the car and tell my buddy and we go and grab some food and play Mario Kart.

I also met Steve from 90210 in Vegas. I guess I pissed him off because he roofied me and the club security tossed me out the back door.

He was about 5’6” and had a case of little man syndrome, even though he hung out at the Playboy Mansion and banged playboy bunnies. /shrug.

I hung out with Adina Butar last month. She’s a big Euro trance singer. Interesting night.

I believe Rodman lives in Delray. Sat next to him on a flight from Fort Lauderdale to Vegas once.

One time we were filming an ad at the world expo and an actress was frustrating the living sh*t out of me. Politely guided her back on script and took my AD aside to explode at her for casting this crazy witch when I heard a laugh you can never not know is coming from the guy it's coming from but I thought it couldn't possibly be....

    "Relax broda hahaha" he said.

I turn around and blocking the sun and casting a long shadow on me is the one and only Dikembe Mutombo. He was with his agent promoting his coffee brand. I've never gone from frustrated to joyful so rapidly in my life lol. Thank you for being an angel in that moment, RIP big fella.

He seems to spend a lot of time in Houston. Was at business breakfast at Snooze near the Galleria last year and he stumbled in hammered smoking a cigar and started boozing at the bar. Then saw him a few weeks later on the patio at Federal Grill on I-10. Both times he was wearing a Dennis Rodman t-shirt

I have met a LOT of DJs over the years, some of whom are very famous. I guess I just don’t think of them as mainstream celebrities. Some are just my friends.

Also met a lot of pro athletes. I guess Hakeem counts especially on this forum. Met Matt Bullard at Moody Gardens once. I kept it on the DL and he thanked me for not drawing attention because he was with his fam.

My grandfather had Hakeem in his freshman English class at UH. Said ‘a very nice young man but not a very good student’. I get the feeling he passed him. Grandpa was a diehard Houston Sports fan. Had this badass Astros bucket hat that I need to ask my grandmother if I can have.

I was working at a neighborhood bank in Chicago many years ago and a coworker said, "hey, so-and-so just came in! Let's go meet him!" So-and-so was a famous Cubs player but I don't watch baseball, wouldn't recognize him, and didn't even know the name (and certainly don't remember it now). So I said, "no thanks, I don't know who that is." Had I known, I probably still wouldn't have gone to say hello. Seems random and cringy.
