Happy New Year, fellow rockets fans.

Things in Rockets basketball aren't going well. Everybody is frustrated. Here are some positive comments from CD on Yao's recovery from Sina.com, and hope it will cheer everybody up a little bit. (I know Sina.com has a credibility issue on this board, so take it with a grain of salt.) When asked about Yao's recovery after the GS game last night, Les said that Yao's healing faster than expected and could come back sooner, and Yao is also nursing other injuries (small ones I guess) at the same time.

If Yao can indeed come back sooner, and somehow, Rockets manage to hang in there before that, we still have a slim chance to make playoff. Once we are in, it's a totally different story, I am not afraid of Spurs, I think we can match up with them.

but we are really not in that bad a shape. as someone else pointed out we are only 4.5 games out of the 8th spot with plenty enough games to overtake it.

Well, let's be upbeat but realistic.

And the only way to be either is to see our players come back from injury (Yao being one of, what?, five players hurt?)

And then we'll have to pour it on.

And will we make any sort of trade? If so, will we trade smart or will we make a move smacking of desperation?

    Et al.

I'm curious: why doesnt yao sit on the bench with the rest of the injured players at the games?
