Yeah I'm Mormon and have lived in Utah and I had a good friend who was a pretty big hunter/fisher. He had a lot of pretty interesting stories about a lot of the polygamists down in southern Utah. He was an ex Special Forces guy, and he pretty much said you don't mess with those guys. But from what he said they pretty much keep to themselves as long as you don't interfere with there communities. I'm a lifelong Mormon, and I think that stuff is as crazy/scary as anyone else.

I was curious, so I actually read most of the abstract from this study, and while Utah does rank highest in "thoughts of suicide", they aren't the top in planned or attempted suicides by any means.

I also read the article about online p*rn consumption, and they pretty much said what I suspected, and that's that more conservative areas have higher p*rn consumption because there just aren't as many ways to get it. As far as I know, there are exactly 2 strip clubs in Salt Lake City. In Houston there's a strip club on every block, a plethora of adult book/video stores, etc. You just don't have those kinds of options in Utah.

But the camping, mountain biking, and skiing is much better!

That's why i cant live in utah even though im a mormon. The religion became a huge culture where it is entirely different from the society than what the church teaches. But i guess any religion has had to deal with zeal before.
