CBSNews says he played his last round of golf in October 2003. They have slightly more credibility than media matters and thinkprogress. Why would I care what your skeptics think? You are also contradicting your last claim that he didn't stop golfing. Now you are saying he did stop golfing, but in October and not August:rolleyes:. See B-Bob this is what I am referring to when I say it is easy to weed through the bull****.

That was sort of the point. Bush said he quit in August 2003, yet he was playing two months later.

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/wor...W-Bush-quits-golf-in-honour-of-Iraq-dead.html

"I remember when de Mello, who was at the UN, got killed in Baghdad as a result of these murderers taking this good man's life," Mr Bush said. "And I was playing golf, I think I was in central Texas, and they pulled me off the golf course and I said, it's just not worth it anymore to do."

That bombing where he was pulled off the golf course and apparently said it wasn't worth it was in August 2003. It sounds like an after-the-fact rationale, since he didn't actually admit this until 2008.

Yes, because scientific findings by the CDC are the same as a post on a Rockets BBS by NewRoxFan. You just believe what you want to believe an dismiss everything else - everything from the IRS "scandal" to Benghazi demonstrates this. Don't try to pretend it's based on some kind of intellectual analysis.

    Bush's golf claim angers veterans

George Bush has angered US war veterans by declaring that out of solidarity with those who made the ultimate sacrifice in Iraq he decided to make his own sacrifice: giving up golf.

In an interview with the Politico website, the president said he took the decision because of the war. "I don't want some mom whose son may have recently died to see the commander in chief playing golf. I feel I owe it to the families to be in solidarity. And I think playing golf during a war just sends the wrong signal."

Brandon Friedman, a veteran US infantry officer who served in both Iraq and Afghanistan, told the Press Association: "Thousands of Americans have given up a lot more than golf for this war. For President Bush to imply that he somehow stands in solidarity with families of American soldiers by giving up golf is disgraceful. It's an insult to all Americans and a slap in the face to our troops' families."

Your argument isn't holding water I am afraid. Bush points to an August event that he quit golfing over, but continued golfing until October (as reported by CBS). So why did he continue golfing those 3 months?

Also, why did he start mountain biking instead? Why was golf somehow disrespectful, but mountain biking not?

Again, it may have sounded good, but once you weed your way through the gesture, it was somewhat shallow at best, and dishonest at worst.

U serious? U are seriously arguing over 2 months? good god where do you nut jobs come from. You know Bush made the comment in 2008 that he quit golf for that reason? Also:

Except he did and now you want to try to save face over 2 months. Why am I even wasting my time?

Everyone chooses what to believe and what not to believe. There is no other way. And yes it is very easy to see through NewRoxFan's small bull**** of 2 months.

are you refuting that you were once BaylorBear, that you claimed to be a black woman, and that you sold puppies?

I like this thread. here you have respected conservative posters not only standing up against bunk research, but also not getting all caught up in presidential golfgate.

also, "my favorite little libbies" just reads like someone trying too hard.

Wow... such vitriol. Was it the surprise that Bush's story had holes in it, or that you were caught up in it.

Again, I don't have a problem with any President taking part in recreational activities of their choosing. But if you are going to criticize Obama, and then point to Bush as the role model to follow... perhaps you should know a bit more about the role model you are suggesting.

So your contention is that he quit golfing out of respect and to show solidarity for the troops, but Bush decided to wait two months before showing that solidarity?

And you get upset when people point out Bush didn't quite when he said he was going quit?
