Think about it. Before Yao coming board, there is no direction of the team, is it going small, guard-oriented (SF, Cat), or big (EG)? So it is difficult to draft because there are too many variables to think about. Once Yao and Tmac are in town, it is much easy to fit the pieces. Still, let's face it, CD is not really good at picking players from draft. In the coming draft though, CD should be able to pick a good player because he should know what he wants.
CD was very candid ...He talked about how the SF trade made us an unbalanced team in the beginning of the year. ... How nice it would have been to start the year with this group of players ...The camaraderie amongst the players is very special ...How Yao and TMac are not vocal leaders and how much the vets have meant to the team ...Talked about the fire from Barry, the grit of Sura, the leadership from Mutambo and surprised enthusiasm of Mike James ...Thinks this is a very special team but is thinks the road ahead will be tough because they had to come together after losing games that we would have won an not having Home field(I guess) ...Jeff VG praised for keeping the ship with so many changing parts ...Eluded to the fact that Jeff is very involved in the personnel decisions because they plan all personnel moves thoroughly ( I personally don’t think CD is just a glorified sec that has to make the phone calls but I have a feeling that it is really Jeff that is telling him whom especially after working for TNT) ...These trades were carefully thought out and they were trying all year to change the balanced ...he seems really pleased with the body of work this year Two thing to rebuke CD. I don’t really think we were unbalanced at the beginning that seems like an excuse I just think that Tyrone Lu sux and that JJ was not a good fit and that Mike James is a gift from the gods as Moochies return is the devils doing IMO the Mo Taylor fiasco is really a disaster. JVG ruined a perfectly serviceable PF and most the bbs is happy with the parts returned in Moochie and Baker.
I agree with Woodlands boy-We got nothing for Taylor----nothing--- that JVG lessened Mo Taylor's trade value by benching him. All of us agree the man could score. He did come to camp in shape and tried to make a come back after the achilles injury. Can anyone defend what we got for Taylor- Vin Baker will not even play and I'm not even going to talk about that NBDL guard we got in Mr. Norris..... I got flamed for wanting to trade Taylor to NO for PJ Brown and a 1st round pick- at least we would have someone to back up Juwan Howard...... I do support CD The deals are by committee - vCD - capologist & phone calls to GM's and agents, JVG- input on players, and Les Alexander on Money.......
yeah JVG ruined Boki too! (humor) (I still like Boki - hope he turns into a serviceable 6th man). Did he ruin Moochie as well? Or was that the Sampson haircut that did that? Can we make JVG responsible for the National Debt somehow?
easy there boys, lets watch the "knee" jerk reactions about MoT just because Howard got hurt. Since some of you havent bee here for too long, you probably didnt know MoT's contract is one the Rox have been trying to unload the day he signed it.
You guys needs to look past what player we got from MoT. Vin and Moochie may suck balls, but they have expiring contracts that would be very vauleble this offseason. With two superstar on the team, the Rockets most likely will not have any cap to sign a good player in the off-season, but with 2 expiring contracts, we have more to work with. Vin and Mooch may very well be the key to get the dream PF we have been wanting all these time.
