CD did a good job last summer(his last year), maybe he could not win the GM of the year, but I have to say "Thank you very much for your understanding contribution to Rockets in past decades. And sorry for what I said on June 28, the TRADE!"

Colangelo wins hands down. That Toronto team was AWFUL last year and on top of that he absolutely flipped the organization upside down overnight. Team Euroleague has been pretty damn fun to watch. I wish they had more national coverage though.

    Look at what he did.

Drafts Bargnani #1 (who's turning out to be far and away the best player in that sorry draft)

Trades Villanueva for TJ Ford (another great trade, Villanueva was really overrated by a lot of people and hasn't been that good in Milwaukee)

Signs Anthony Parker (a crazy steal, he's a more athletic shooting guard version of Shane Battier, very high bball IQ and has all those intangibles, god I wish we could've spent our MLE on this guy)

Signs Jorge Garbajosa (another Euroleague player who does all the little things)

CD made one big trade (the Battier deal) but most of that team is the same from last year. Battier was a good move but nothing compares to resuscitating a bad Toronto team

    Kirk Snyder for peanuts.
    Jake for nothing.

    "Kirk Snyder for peanuts.
    Jake for nothing."

I agree- both shrewd moves giving up little in resources.

I'm a Snyder fan but getting him was a blip on the radar in the NBA landscape. And him relegated to the end of the bench won't get ooohs and ahhhs from CD's peers. Jake for Padgett won't get any recognition either.

CD screwed up with some bad signings during the late Rudy years-- Cato, Mooch, Maloney, Taylor, etc. But he did a decent job cleaning out the mess of late. Les is probably to credit for those as well. Likely he got tired of paying big money to crap players and put his foot down.

I like Colangelo's chances only if he got more contribbuting. rotation guys this past summer and CD just got Battier and the inconsistent Wells.

On the other hand, the Raptors do play in the Special Olympics divisin.

CD definately made some huge screwups 9-10 years ago ...but that isn't the question. We are talking THIS year.

I think the Rockets have the biggest turnaround in the league from last season. ...and the Rockets are in West. CD's name certainly should be in the hat.

I think it is between him and Colangelo.....and the Rockets are better in a much tougher conference...

CD may have the edge...especially since he is retiring.

    Bryan Colangelo, NOT EVEN CLOSE.

He made Raptors into contender, with complete overhaul of roster. Sorry CD.

At least JVG can win coach of the year (hopefully)
