Do you have the most recent version: http://www.pplive.com/download/PPLiveSetup1.0.9.5.exe I was getting that with version 1.0.7. Otherwise, you might want to try out one of the other CCTV5s.
was getting the same until I upgraded with the 1.0.9 version the HBO you can see using the new version. I saw an ESPN also but it is the CHINESE ESPN. (looks exactly like the USA ESPN except chinese writing in the score boxes and announcers)
Thanks! I'm downloading the new version now. This site only has the old version: http://www3.pplive.com/english/
ok i found the channels list but do i have to have wmp open to view it or use that pp live tv thing? i clicked on play view its buffered to 100% and then a open file dialog box open up in chinese and i didnt know what it was looking for please up the game is a little over an hour away i want to make sure this thing works before i go a knockin on doors to watch the game
oh nice i got it working now and i am quite impressed by the quality of it i am getting 739k/sec on the video. this is gonna be great for the games this season i probably will speak fluent chinese at the end of the year
Just ignore them. Under "channel list" you should see: ?????? ????... ?? ???? Go to the third option and the menu will expand to show english options. At least that's what I saw in my version (1.0.9.6).
ok this is how i figured it out i right clicked the tray icon when to channels list selected the one with two ??s on it and chose cctv5 800k from it then went to options and chose the asf player to be wmp (for some reason it was bsplayer but figure i'd go with the one the website recommended) then right clicked the tray icon again and chose play view and doubled clicked the cctv5 in the dialog box where it shows buffering/speed and # of peers and then wmp opened up and started playing the stream
I downloaded the newest version of pplive, but when I go to the website and click "CCTV-5 TEST 1 or 2), it says "pplive is not a registered protocol". Does anyine know what the problem is? I downloaded the older version of pplive earlier, and when I clicked on the CCTV-5 tests, they played on wmp very choppy and slowly.
GO to "update" and select Netware. If you double click on the blank fields, information should automatically fill itself in there. Just click "ok." If you don't see information autofilled, just put this down: Server Name: http://update.pplive.com/update/PE_Update Second blank field: PPlive I'm not sure if this is your problem, but all my problems were solved when I did that.
Okay, I see the picture now. It has good quality, but it is slow and choppy. I would say I have a good connection, though. Is this just because there aren't as many people online sharing it at the moment? Or should I try not using the 800k and switching to a lower one?
Use the one with a higher percentage. I am using the one with 88% and am getting good quality and stable picture.
I'm using the latest version (1.096) and managed to find CCTV-5 (800k) in the channel list, but after selecting CCTV-5 (800k), nothing happens. When I double click on the PPLive icon in the system tray, it shows that I have 0% buffered, 0 Kb speed, and 0 peers. Is this a problem due to my router? Has anyone gotten this to work from behind a DSL/Cable router?
