We might be getting somewhere, but I will not decide yet. I might still like Nomar's offer better. I'll have to see who will be available in the draft, so a decision will come after the playoffs.

Btw Cat can you outline how things will go when the season is over?

    Is it like:
    1. Everyone declare 2 ppl for the draft (mine will most likely be Hill and Snow). Will also the computer simmed teams give up 2 ppl? (I know they have crap but will they give up 2 decided by you or a couple of GM's?

    2. Declare teams for next season. (As in will you still play, and any new GM's in for the fun) This could perhaps also be done before #1

    3. Draft from all players in the 2 player pool. 2 pix's each.

Will there also be slaughetering of computer-teams this season? This will most likely be very crappy players if not we have one of the human players resign without a new Human GM stepping in. Will there be a rookie draft for this season? I'm all for not having a rookie draft yet if we will play this season in the off-season. How will new players be rated, and will you create them (if so then you surely will have bonus info when drafting). I would really like to know what are coming up next season so we know what we can trade with. We should also start a playerpool/draftorder thread so ppl know what they can get in the draft. If we have everything outlined people could start claiming untaken teams if they want in on the next season. If we will have more drafts - 2ppl/rookie/teamraping - how will each draftorder be decided. Will all be based on this years record or will some be added in during next season based on ranking after x games. If we also decided outlines for several season we could perhaps even trade with coming seasons drafts ... I think we should do that. Have the same rules for coming seasons. Thoughts?

Aw man you're killing me! I respect your decision on waiting though. Remember this, Karl Malone is arguably the greatest power forward ever. It's true.

    Heath,

First thing I want to do now and after the playoffs is get everyone to declare two of their starters for the draft, before anything else. Once that happens, I will do a roll check of who is in the league, put up a draft order, and copy and paste all players submitted from each team into one list. As for the computer controlled teams, any players from those teams will be available (except Zo, Hill, Ilgauskas, etc. whom I will decide a way to distribute at a later time) in addition to the 2 starters given up by each team. Afterwards, once we declare all teams, get players submitted for the draft, etc. we'll have a two round draft.

I do plan on doing a rookie draft, but not at this point. We can only do rookies once, and now imho is not the time. I will rate based on my observations and consensus' from all draft experts on various sites throughout the web. The overall ratings will probably be similar for many players... the key is some ratings will be more important to success than others, and it's up to you to find the players that can contribute immediately by having certain attributes in their game. I want to have the rookie draft sometime in June near real draft time, when everyone is excited about it and knows more information on the players.

Every season will have generally the same procedure, except for whenever I decide to hold the rookie draft. Every team will submit two players (most likely), and we'll hold a two round draft from those players and any on unclaimed computer teams before that season starts (consider it preseason). Draft order will be determined from worst to first in regular season record, with the exception being non-playoff teams will go ahead of playoff teams, even if the non-playoff team has a better record (see Houston going ahead of Indiana in real life). The reason I say most likely is I might consider forcing each team to submit three players farther down the road due to the suggestions of a couple of other GMs. You can trade future picks (for the next 3 seasons I guess, lets not go farther than that right now), but be aware right now future first rounders (for the 3rd and 4th seasons) will have more value if I decide to make every team give up 3 and not 2 players. It is a possibility, so while you can trade future picks, I advise you to wait a couple of days so I can decide. When I do, refer to any picks before next season (the draft next week) as 2nd season picks, the ensuing as 3rd, after that as 4th.

Before the draft I had Starks as my starter and he was giving 15 points per game. I don't know why he didn't play more during the playoffs, but I know he was a nice starter for me before we did the draft.

Man I know what you mean about the team page thing, I'm always having to go search through roster, standings, and stats threads just to find what the hell these other players are doing.

I'm not looking that hard into that trade as I'm moving bigger pieces right now. You do not need to hold up trading him (Russell) away on my account, even if I might be interessted after I've done some other trades. I can't decide upon a trade like that as I don't know what I'll need. It all depends on what happens with me trading away Iverson (and maybe even mutombo after that). You can give me Russell's and Funderburke's full statline with minutes and info on how/where you played them put I still can't make a positive decision before I've done my other trades. Can maybe give you a negative one - but likely Russell and Funderburke will produce enough so I can't even give you that. [IMG]

Thought I'd throw in that when I had Russell and Starks starting for my team they both produced very similar numbers.

You could get your "Russell" with Starks.

I dont want to make a direct attack on anyone elses trade proposals, so ill just ask Cat a question.

Hey Cat, How long do you think it will be in the sim before Malone retires???

    ------------------
The next time I have meat and mashed potatoes, I think I'll put a very large blob of potatoes on my plate with just a little piece of meat. And if someone asks me why i didn't get more meat, ill just say, "Oh, you mean this?" and pull out a big piece of meat from inside the blob of potatoes, where ive hidden it. Good magic trick, huh?

    Nomar

Would you be interested in acquiring Malone for Iverson if you got Iverson?

I'm willing to throw in pretty much anybody on my team to get Iverson.

Maybe Malone+Lafrentz for Iverson+the draft pick you get from Heath

Malone produces more than Iverson and Lafrentz is better than any draft pick you could pick up at the spot you'll have.

I'd even throw in another player if u wanted me to in exchange for a scrub.

    Interested?

As far as I know, players don't "retire" in the sim... however for many their skills are supposed to gradually diminish with time.

It would be cool to do a 3 way trade. We could even make it fair by adding scrubs and picks from any draft - also upcoming seasons draft. But of course this is just mostly because it would rule to do a 3 way trade not that I think we would be better of than doing multiple trades to get almost the same result.

Cat - can you confirm this, or can you give me a full statline for these players with mins?

[Edit]Not so much the confirmation I'm after but I would like a full statline that includes atleast minutes, but I would also like other stats if available. I'm getting plenty offers for Iverson and I have to get the best available info so I can decide what I like best. And Cat did you see my regular season stat request in the other thread? I would like full season stats for my 1st and 2nd string without playoffs games.

So Heath, what's wrong with my deal I offered?

Mutumbo isn't a deal breaker. I can't give up both Malone and Lafrentz without getting a big man in return though.

    Maybe Malone+Lafrentz for Iverson+Draft pick?

I really want to shake up my roster b/c I pretty much left this team alone and they produced all season but then they died on me during the playoffs so I feel I need to rethink my roster.

Well since this thread's been dead for a couple days I thought I'd ask nomar again if he is at all interested in Malone for Iverson if he gets Iverson.

I know you have KG, but he's a versatile player and I'm sure he could be moved anywhere in your front court and seriously produce.

I'm willing to throw in any players to make a deal for Iverson work. My team won a lot of games, if I gave up a couple starters they should help your team just like they helped mine. All I want in return would be the sixers pick and Iverson, what you got from Heath basically. I'll throw in any combo of players on my team that you'd want as long as it's within reason.

If there's no way in hell you'd be interested then just say so so I can look into doing other deals.

BTW Heath, I'm not giving up on that trade I have offered to you, lose the Malone hate please, hehe.
