crispee -- thanks bud.... I appreciate all the compliments I do want to be clear though -- I did have it confirmed the Rockets were going to announce the deal was done, but others had it before the site. Also, Old School was the first to report about the 12pm press conference (thanks btw, always on top of the latest) I wasn't 100% against the Rice deal. I was against it at first, but I warmed up to the deal. I think people took out of context when I said, "I can't describe how frustrated I am" when I first posted abut the proposed deal. I was actually frustrated because I was told of the deal a day and a half previous, and had been bugging the hell out of Doc to let me post it. My thinking is, "When is it OK to post it? After someone else prints it?" I understand reasons all around so you just hold off. Anyhow, the nice part was no one knew or reported about Rice.... so the site was still able to report that first. Ditto on Bullard-Charlotte. But imagine how good it would have been for all of us on a credibility level if we had "Shandon for Rice" a good day and a half before the New York Post rather than 6 hours or so. Also, I definitely have been wrong before... I try not to be on the front page (though still have been -- remember Shandon Anderson will sign with the Rockets within 24 hours (back in '99), 2 and a half weeks before he ultimately signed?). If I get a rumor that sounds legit but can't really be confirmed, I'll generally post it here and let it be kicked around for discussion.
Yeah Clutch, but you still havently answered the big question: Why is Rocketeer's image showing Rice wearing #4?
I feel for Clutch wholeheartedly as well. Just durious, though, as to how you know that Berman, from Fox, or even ESPN for that matter, isn't in the same position. IT seems to me Berman would have the same, if not better, contacts in the sports world than Clutch, or even OP. REgardless, I give props where it is due, and Clutch could be a better Berman and certainly a better Davd Aldridge if he wanted to.
explain to me your point. My point was Clutch IS "in the same position", not more or less or better or worse. My point is that when the front page goes live, you can bank on it. It was just odd to me that some were scouring the internet for news of the conference yesterday, when the news was right under our noses on the front page.
Must agree here. Clutch is Solid Gold! He and his crew (HcrispeeP, Jeff, Will, Cat, Kagy, et. all.) are always on top of things. Props to all...... HP, again, great work on the site. ROCKET!!! has got you back!
