i knew this would be suggested but i kinda hope this isnt the case in round 1. i wanna root for my fellow nugget fan, but i cant root against me!

i think post # (after #1 seeds have been determined) should be a good way to get the rest of the seeds, with a little bit of randomness throw in.

but just so you guys know...im in this thing to win. im not taking my surprise selection for granted. leaving it all on the court baby!

    nugzfan=dark horse.

The popularity thing is too much like the BCS in college football, but it would save space. I think there could be interesting match-ups if it's the postdown method that's taken that way an underdog can take it and make an exciting tournament.

BTW You fellas are headed to the rookie game and others like myself are the Griffins of the league. :p That's ok my sig says it all.

I think, if any part of the tournament is going to go Postdown style, you'll have to make sure all of the contestants actually want to participate.

otherwise, you might have popular posters out of the top 128 not playing along during the final 3 rounds, and that would kind of be a Postdown buzzkill, no?

at some point, a decision may have to be made weighing size of the tournament vs. quality of the tournament.

I agree with major; the more complicated it is, the fewer people will have the patience to participate. I'm all for complicated, though, because it just seems more interesting to me than the whole popularity route. we all already know who will win it that way right now.

with the Postdown, it's wide open. . .

however, the decision is really up to whoever feels like going to the trouble of monitoring all of it. if that's you, Puedlfor, I respect whatever decision you make.

but if we're still in the planning stages, would it really swamp the board to have 64 or 32 individual threads for the 1st-round matchups rolling Postdown style? maybe it would, I don't know.

sorry, I'm a gemini, and I can play devil's advocate until the cows come home.

my vote is for full-on Postdown style, start to finish. but if that's too much of a hassle, just roll with whatever you think is best, Pued.

If we're going to do Postdown from start to finish, the problem with that is that it would take :
    1) Too much work,
    2) Too much time,
    3) Too much BBS Space.

I think we should seperate the Postdown and the Mr/Mrs CC.net contest.

If you want to do a smaller Postdown contest, I tihnk that would be a great Idea, and would garner some interest, meanwhile, I'll just go with what was originally planned and go with the straight votes all the way through.

    Its simpler that way.

I like the topic thing for the finalists. Would it be in a short debate type of format?

I would like to point out a MAJOR oversight. The poster with the most revived threads ever was left off of this list. The DUKE DUKE DUKE OF TRUTH TRUTH TRUTH, the one and only LHutz. How can there be a best poster tournament without Hutzie?

    Huh?

    Right!

I can't prove it, but I'm sure LHutz is already in the contest, but under his original identity.
